What about PS Plus streaming/ PS remote play + Lossless Scaling?
Have you tried it? I've wanted to play bloodborne for a lot of time, but 30fps it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, so yesterday night I thought about Lossless Scaling FG on that... do you think it's possible?

With 3x would be 90FPS

So I wondered this exact thing and have done some research on this and I can share some really useful information on this question.

You can use Lossless Scaling on to play Bloodborne to get the frame generation, or any other PS4/PS5 game. There are some caveats though.

So if you want to do this you can even use a capture card that supports at least 60fps, or use Playstation Remote Play on PC. The capture card is probably the better option to have less latency, but this will also likely depend on what capture card you get. You could get a crappy one.

EDIT: Actually now that I think about it you still need set recording to 30fps so it is locked there for LossLess Scaling to do frame generation to 60fps. Lossless scaling needs constant frames for best results. If the base frames are jumping up and down then your end result is going to be bad with the frame generation. You can watch some videos showing you this. This is probably the most important thing when using LossLess Scaling frame generation. Your base frames need to be set to be as constant as possible. A steady 30fps is way better than lets say 40fps but is jumping up and down from 30 to 45.. Frame generation will be horrible in this case and unplayable.

The other option is using Playstation Remote Play. This seems to have more latency since you are actually streaming you gameplay from your PS4/PS5 over your home network. If you are using Wifi it will be even worse. If you can avoid using Wifi and use it ethernet then that is the best option for the least amount of latency. This might be decent enough to play with.

I will point out that the Playstation Remote play app only supports 720p with a PS4. PS5 supports 1080p. So keep that in mind.


The actual best option to play Bloodborne at 60fps is to Jailbreak your Playstation. Then you can run the 60fps patch. If you jailbreak your PS4 to run the 60fps patch the game will run at 720p. You have to have a PS5 to run the 60fps patch at 1080p. The frame pacing seems to be best on PS5. This shouldn't really be a surprise though. The reason the game was capped at 30fps on PS4 in the first place was because the game really pushed the PS4 and had very inconsistent frames and the engine wasn't as optimized. Remember Bloodborne on launch? It took OVER a full minute to load every time it loaded a level. It took multiple patches to improve this. 9 Patches total if I recall.

Dark Souls 3 was better optimized and it came out after Bloodborne. If I recall the mod for 60fps Bloodborn backports some code from Dark Souls 3 since it is a more up to date version of the engine.

It is easier to jailbreak the PS4 today in 2024 than has ever been. You'd be surprised how easy it is now compared to when that first came about. As long as your PS4 is on Firmware 9.00 to 11.00 then you are good to go.
Jailbreaking your console is the best option to play it @60fps. The next options are the capture card, then PS Remote play to run LossLess Scaling. These options do work but the latency you will experience will vary on different factors. Like running PS Remote Play with a PS4, all over Wi-Fi will be the worst option when it comes to latency.

Try out the remote play app and see how it works for you. Keep in mind this will be the worst option with latency. Try it with ethernet if you can at the very least.

Which method are you using where it isn't smooth? Are you using Remote Play? Is it over Wi-Fi? If so it will be horrible. Try it using ethernet wired connection for best results.
