Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

What's a good setting for Elden Ring?
My setup:

1660Ti
Ryzen 5 1600
16 gb Ram
B350 TOMAHAWK ARCTIC

And a 75hz gsync monitor

I'd love a guide in how to setup it for Elden Ring specifically, can you help me?

It's basically the same for every game, there's really not much you need to do, you cap your framerate to 37 (half your monitor refresh rate), set framegen to x2, and enjoy Elden Ring at 74fps. Just make sure that you select the right graphics quality settings for your card, so that it has enough spare GPU power to handle the frame generation.
Why on earth is your nominal refresh rate 74fps??? I have *never* seen a frame rate that wasn't at least on a multiple of 5. I'm pretty sure if you have a 120 or 144 hz monitor you could have it run at 60 fps, then get effective 120 out.

Yes, but that was meant for the OP, Orazio Cane, he has, as you can see in his post, a 75hz monitor.

the refresh rate is 75hz, the reason for hitting 1 fps below the refresh rate is to prevent the vsync getting enabled to cause extra delay. i dont do it personally but it seems to be a common thing people do so help combat some of the delay. as for a 75hz screen, i have one as a secondary, its a factory save overclock for a monitor that was sold as a 60 hz screen.

if you want to avoid vsync delay you must cap your game -3 fps under your refresh rate. If you want to combine LS and frame gen you divide your 75hz by 2X or 3X and cap it to that value, so for 75 hz u divide by 2 which is 37.5 fps (and use the 2x version off framegen) and cap your game to 37.5 fps. This way u dont get vsync input lag.

1-2 is usually enough.

To 37, not 37.5.

Hey, was wondering if there is an advantage to use only the scaling option.

I don't own the software yet, but I'm considering.

What could I see in terms of ghosting, shimmering, stuttering or any other problem if I go for scaling from 1440p to 4k, while leaving at base 60 fps?

I'm rocking a 4070 + amd 5600X, 32 Gb RAM.

I just bought LLS in order to achieve 60+ stable fps (currently running around 30fps @1440p).
Problem is, even if the fps counter from LLS goes up to 90 fps when using 3x FG, the game actually run at 30 or less fps, resulting in stuttering and overall a worse performance.
I've followed every guide, fps cap, all settings in LLS but no improvement while scaling. Any thoughts?

You only get 30fps without framegen? Have you already tried lowering your resolution? What's your refresh rate btw? It's usually best to cap it to 1/2 or 1/3 of your refreshrate for x2 or x3 for frame pacing/sync reasons.

Gizzmoe, a friend of mine asked something about Lossless Scaling on Elden Ring and got answered that he'll most likely be banned if using it, can you tell him he'll not be banned please? xD he's not listening to me lol

Just passing by, I second that your friend will not get banned.

LS is like a streaming/casting app, which processes the images that appear on your display, not the game itself. It has literally nothing to do with the game, though it looks like it has.

Sure. "Hey, friend of Orazio Cane, nice to meet you, many people use LS for Elden Ring online and no one ever got banned for using it, it's totally safe to use".

it's almost the same between 1080p and 1440p. My monitor runs variable refresh rate, so since I seem to be unable to pull off a lot more I tried to cap it to 30fps and go 3x.
While my 30-35fps game run decently smooth, if I activate lls it becomes laggy

LS needs additional GPU power for frame generation, so your initial 30-35fps base framerate, that your GPU barely can hit, get even lowers. You need to find graphics settings that ensures a pretty constant 30fps while framegen is running. And if you have Nvidia, then VRR isn't going to work with LS afaik, at least it doesn't on my system and some systems of others. It that case you would need to lower your monitor to 90hz for good frame pacing.

I try maximum ray tracing on Elden and I get 40 frames constantly. So, I put my monitor to 120 hz and lock the game to 39 fps. I use Lossless Scaling LSFG 3X so I could get almost 120 frames. It feels smooth honestly. You could try enabling allow tearing for lowest input delay, I cannot see any problems with it.

Ok, I was able to get 30fps stable and capped (which means that without cap I'm somewhere between 30 and 40 and it runs quite smooth). With LSS I just can't see any difference. Moreover, I get two numbers showing the frames that are almost identical (like 140/150) while I expect to see 30/90 (as it was during my first tries).
From AMD Adrenalin I disabled every setting not to interfere
