Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

Request ; priority the FG artifacts
Lossless Scaling is a blessing for many games.
I cant play without it to be honest.
But please FG introduces many graphical artifacts on the HUD of games.
I can understand thats because LS is a 3rd party app but can you please look into it to reduce it ?

I play at 4-8K(60-360hz/fps).. which I understand a large percentage of people don't.. So this might be something that is more prevalent at lower resolutions(it's usually the case, even DLSS[arguably the best up-scaling/frame gen tech on the market has these issues at lower resolutions but in higher resolutions they all but disappear or at the very least are so unnoticeable that it's not an issue) The only noticeable artefacts I have noticed are full UI(like flat character menus with static textures/no 3D rendering on screen) blotching that can occur in these scenes and it's literally not an issue because it in no way affects game-play. I haven't noticed any artefacts other than slight hazing/UI pulsing on crosshairs/fine in game hud details. It's in my case incredibly minor amount and again this could be very minor on my part because of the high resolution makes it far less noticeable.

You should post screen shots. small clips in discord to show what's happening.. because in most cases from what I've seen in support it's usually caused by incorrect settings or conflicting settings that pertain to different ways one could setup Lossless scaling for certain things(i.e. using WGC settings for DXGI setup/ 1.1 and 2.1 settings all mixed up) if it's really serious artefacting. You shouldn't really have a substantial amount of this. However I don't know your settings.. If you're playing at 720p/1080p.. I'm sorry to say you're going to end up with a lot of artefacting compared to 2K+ .. All though I have tested this on an old 1080p laptop and still didn't notice much artefacting but then again that's only a 17" screen.

Keep in mind that it will take time for the dev to get near perfect removal of all these graphical issues.. LSFG right now seriously competes with AFMF and in my opinion is just straight up better than AFMF at the moment(AFMF does not work on a lot of games despite being driver side and advertised as being able to run on anything as long as you have a new enough AMD GPU).. If you think LSFG has artefacting.. wait till you use AFMF LOL. In so many case AFMF looks like mass pinging on UI elements in A LOT of games at the moment and to be honest AMD has done really fuq all to fix issues since unveiling it. You'd think it'd be more a priority since consoles use it to push frame rates in games that haven't been configured for the new gen consoles.

Anyways get on discord and post and see what the pros say. I'm sure they can help you because it sounds to me like you're either playing at an insanely low resolution or have messed up settings.

im playing in 2K upscaling to 4K. Its a 240 Hz monitor but i lowered it to 120Hz and i play many games in 4K capping games at 30/120 ( 3x scaling ) and 60/120 ( 2x scaling ).
I know the higher i go with my framerate to less artifacts i can see.

Thing is i love to play very demanding games like CP2077 and Avatar ( with the unobtanium settings ), Dragons Dogma 2 in 4K.. my RTX 4090 can provide 60 fps in many games but some of the games are extreme high demanding so i set those games at 30/120 PURE BLISS
But the artifacts realy are a thing i want to see solved in future updates.

turn off performance mode and set it 2x mode. however improving that app so that there is less artifacts has been something the dev has been working and we have seen the improvements through updates. honestly after the last few updates the artifacts have been very minimal when on 2.0/2.1 via non-performance mode and 2x frame gen.

however your math is wrong, 30fps at 3x frame gen is 90 fps.

performance is OFF and you are right : i wrote 30 instead of 40. Thanks for mentioning that.
Good to hear they are working on it:steamthumbsup:

Yeah they be working on this like insane. I never expected to get this much out of this app. This app is used more than any game I have in my library. The artefacting will all be fixed i'm quite sure down the road. when you compare the first iteration of LSFG1 to LSFG2 and 2.1. The frame stability, pacing and smoothness, artefacting have all gotten drastically better in such a small time frame.
