Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

Using it on console using a capture card
Does anyone have experience with capture cards (specifically 4k/60Hz/HDR ones)and if they add a significant delay ?

I wonder if it would be possible, using a capture card, to capture the image of a PS5 game, displaying it in OBS/[other software] locked at the framerate of the game so no duplicate frames, and upscaling the framerate using LSFG ?

FF7 Rebirth with graphics AND a usable framerate ? (a man can dream)

ha i'm doing it with the PS5 remote play app. latency is not that bad when connected by ethernet cable but frame-pacing is not great.
Bought a 4K60 capture card, Bloodborne at 90FPS works pretty well. There's the typical "your head disseapears during fast camera swings" issue, but my god, finally bloodborne with a playable framerate.

This software really is a gift from the gods.

You get a smooth experience? Cause I get everything laggy (not even 50fps)

I wonder why head disappearing happens to bloodborne and Elden Ring in LS.

Happens because the head is a small detail on the screen, so it easily gets hidden by scrolling scenery when frames are generated. It happens in a lot of 3rd person games.

I use OBS and full screen projection (so a fullscreen view of the sourcee).
You need to configure your projection to be at the game's framerate, so in OBS settings I set the video output to 30FPS for 30FPS games, and go back to 60 for 60FPS games.

if you don't do this on 30FPS games, LS will try to upscale a 60FPS video feed where every other frame is a duplicate of the previous one, so the framerate will be erratic.

i heard only the pcie version has good enough latency, and that the usb version has quite a bit more delay.

IDK, I bought a PCIe version as I didn't want any more clutter on my desk, and I also don't really trust USB connection to be reliable enough for this type of usage, the added input lag is minimal, no perceived difference between direct connection to screen, passthrough to screen, and recorded footage.

The model i bought is an Avermedia Live Gamer 4K, works pretty good, the only regret I have was not buying the more expensive one with 120Hz passthrough and VRR, because the 40FPS mode in games would be great upscaled to 120FPS.
