Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

Let use LSFG 2.0 as an option again... 2.1 feels kind of wrong
or at least make it available in the steam betas, so we can roll back to version 2.8

before I had 85-90 sometimes 100 fps in Forbidden West with LSFG 2.0 now I cant go past 75 because it is locked to my max refresh rate, not a problem....

EXCEPT somehow the new LSFG 2.1 feels mega choppy and clunky. Please, let us use 2.0 as an option while 2.1 is still being developed.....

so please, let us select the typical 2.0 mode in the meantime. I kind of deeply disagree locking the frame generation to your max refresh rate, leaving that only for high refresh rate users when likely everyone who buys this software is because they cant afford a high end gpu meaning even less chances of a 144hz display. lets be real.

Even if the previous LSFG 2.0 exceeded the refresh rate I dont mind a little tearing long as I have the game at a higher framerate, 2.1 just feels really clunky and stuttery.

i feel the same way, yes
2.0 was much more stable and smoother for my eyes.

What framerate limit did you set? For 75Hz you should set it to 37 for FG x2, then there should be no choppiness.
You seem to be in 0.1%. A bunch of people already tried it and nobody has this issue.

tried capped, uncapped, max refresh rate, 60fps static refresh rate. it just wont go past the number I set in the monitor, I dont mind if I play at 75fps because it is an acceptable number but it feels MEGA janky. not an issue in version 2.8

this is contradictory as they say the framegen works better if the native framerate is higher

What was your in-game cap when you had your monitor at 75hz and you noticed the choppiness?

with 1.1 I used to downgrade from 75hz to 60fps to do a manual 30fps in-game cap (as recommended) > from this we go to LSFG 2.0 I do the same but somehow I found out I didnt need to do all of that, I could let my game uncapped and set my refresh rate back to 75hz.. So with 2.0 verison 2.8, uncapped framerate, native monitor refresh, no vsync of any sorts, VRR support. Freesync. Game ran 90 to 110fps and felt BUTTER SMOOTH. Because if I could get it natively around 60+fps the framegen will output better frames too. without the cap. I didnt mind the tearing.

LSFG 2.1 update, everything is just acting strange. I havent changed anything else. Tried the old way, works poorly. My native "low" FPS (45... 55) is somehow more consistant comparing to the new recently updated framegen.

You can rollback to the previous version of lossless scaling easily.

1. Windows key + R, copy paste the following text into it: steam://nav/console
2. In the console window, paste this: download_depot 993090 993091 2555231539353877445

3. Wait for download to finish, Once it's finished, look in the console window to find out where it was downloaded to.
4. ???
5. Profit

You can find more builds here: https://steamdb.info/depot/993091/manifests/

thanks a lot!! I really cant stand playing at my fixed refresh rate with FG enabled AT ALL! really dumb idiotic move there seriously. I'll do this. Thx.

There's an easier way to get the previous build ;)

Yes, that works too. I noticed that build in the betas just wasn't sure it was the right version but now I know it is. :cozybethesda:
