Yes, there is no magic here and LS requires GPU power to run. It's worth it or not, decide for yourself. The ratio will be different for each setup as it depends on the resolution and GPU. Someone's LS consumes 50% of the GPU, and someone - 5%.
I just read elsewhere here that the sharpening feature causes gpu usage to spike so I turned it off and now I'm seeing the right gpu usage. Thank you for the answer all the same!
You mean the driver sharpening?
No, the sharpness slider of Lossless Scaling. I turned it down to 0 or 1 and gpu usage went down to what it should be.
