don't know about Polaris card but it work with Igpu (mine is Vega 10) tho not smooth it work well.
Is just open, set in the app the refresh for maximum, run the game on window and its done.
You can still have to change refresh rate it if refresh rate is not evenly divided by your FPS
I updated the guide. Please read it
If i limit the frame rate to 30 or 60 on the Nvidia panel and set the monitor refresh rate acordingly (60Hz and 120Hz), i get horrible results.
So i just play Arma 3 with no FPS limit set on Nvidia Panel and monitor refresh rate set to 144Hz and all is good: the app double the FPS whatever it is, and everything is fluid and beautifull.
I'm still not sure what is better, vsync on or off (results are very similar i believe)...
But limit the FPS on Nvidia Panel is a total no go and people insisting on it will believe the app is broken, at last for Arma 3, the reason game for me to buy this app.
I don't think the guide is wrong I believe entirely every set up have there own way of use and from my experienced vsync help with the minor tearing but not whole lot and when you using the app run differently on every game best to find you own way like you do now.
all and whole some game get better results with x/2 the fps to refresh rate some like you suggest KF2, risk of rain 2 and other perform better have the fps not caps.
If you set a global cap you cap LS to the same framerate of the game, which means you're not boosting your framerate. That's most likely why it didn't work, it needs to be a per game cap
I just use the Lossless Scaling in-built proprietary scaling (LS1) and the frame generation (LSFG). I set my games to 720p windowed, and upscaled from there to 1080p. No refresh rate capping or any of that. Also, using Lossless Scaling's in-app FPS counter to see the gained FPS. It works smoothly.
Also, noticed something strange (in a good way) I set Lossless Scaling to launch minimized with Windows, then was playing Tomb Raider (Part 1) via the Epic Games Store, using the method I mentioned. I was getting about 115 FPS. But, as I was messing around in the graphics settings (resolution settings), the Lossless Scaling app crashed. When I relaunched it from Steam, and then upscaled again, I was getting a solid 144FPS (shown in the -in-app counter). I could tell too as the gameplay was much smoother, and I familiar with the feel of 144hz.
So, I recommend trying out my steps and telling me what you think, y'all
Edit: "Tested it out even more in Rise of Industry. When I scaled it and applied Frame Generation at 720p in Borderless, I was getting max of 112 FPS in the main menu. But when Windowed, I was getting stable 144FPS.
Hoping the dev sees this and it helps create a good guide, Thank you for this amazing app."
