Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

(ノ°□°)ノ  [developer] Jun 22, 2022 @ 8:40am
2.1.3 released
Added Anime4K scaling type. Standard upscaling version in five sizes: S, M, L, VL, UL.
Although S has compared performance to FSR, all of the following sizes are much heavier, so it only makes sense for watching anime or playing games that are not frequently updated.

So glad this is still being actively updated with more upscaling methods!

Hi thanks. Is that possible to add FSR 2.0 in lossless scaling? If possible do you consider to add FSR 2.0?

They already said it's not possible cuz FSR 2.0 needs to be implemented directly into a game's engine, but I wonder if that means software's like ReShade can make use of it since it injects itself into the game.

How does this upscaling work? I did test on browser.

That's sad, thanks btw.
Wonderfull:steamthumbsup:

Thank you! I've been wanting this scaling algorithm, I appreciate it.

Injection is still not enough. FSR 2.0 needs to have access to motion vectors, something that ReShade will never achieve.

Thank you so much.
Take care, please.

Wow, I did a bit of testing and Anime4k Medium is amazing for games, at least in the one I tested, destroys the other methods in image quality and stability, great option to have in the toolbox, specially for reading text/hud quality
(tested 720p -> 1440p)
Edit: yes, Small is faster for high refresh and higher resolutions, and still better than others

Updated with a small optimization. Anime4K will run faster if the scaling factor is exactly 2.

What is the difference between those five sizes: S, M, L, VL, UL?

Performance and quality. S is the fastest and lower quality.
