Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

A question or few.
Hi all
I am running at gtx 1080 ti with a 3440x1440p monitor. Most games are decent, but some without AMD FSR can be an issue.
Does it work well with my resolution. Anyone else using the same?

Does it also scale things like on screen HUDs - showing things like health or ammo ( dependent on the game).
Is the software smart enough to avoid this?

Also, does the policy for software apply also as in games - a refund for less that 2 hours play and within 2 weeks I understand. This is in case it is an issue.

I wish to use AMD FSR an all games if practical, except for the ones that has it included already.

Thanks

Useful info appreciated.

It scales everything, that includes HUD.
The only way to avoid HUD scaling is if the game itself has FSR. No third party tool will be able to avoid it.

Since you have nvidia GPU, have you tried nvidia's improved NIS? You can enable it in the driver setting. Be aware though, NIS also scales HUD. (must be on driver version 496.76 or higher for the improved scaler)

I am on 496.49, so will download it.
Is is FSR as part of the drivers, or something different?

Thanks

FSR is an AMD thing so it's not going to be in nvidia drivers.
It's also not in AMD drivers, for whatever reason. It's only available if a game has it or you use a third party tool like Lossless Scaling. And as I mentioned above, you will get HUD scaling unless the game itself has FSR. NIS always does HUD scaling.
Even though FSR was developed by AMD, it's not AMD exclusive, so you can use it no matter what GPU you have. NIS used to be nvidia exclusive but was made available to everyone recently. Most people (myself included) weren't even aware NIS was a thing until they made it available to everyone.

I gave it a try. useful for some games.
More games either need fsr or NIS implemented in them,
