Lossless Scaling

Laptop IGPU and GPU switching, settings for Lossless Scaling
(moved from comments to Community Discussions)
While a lot of the instructions use AMD, the section on switching GPU/IGPU in windows is the same and broadly speaking profiles etc applies also to Nvidia.

As noted in other threads, disable Radeon Enhanced Sync (Gaming->Graphics or in Lossless Scaling game profile) or it will be a stutter fest.

LS = Lossless Scaling
IGPU =AMD Ryzen 7 2700U with Vega Graphics
GPU = AMD Radeon RX560X 4GB GPU

Set the GPU for a game or app (LS) to use.
Open Windows Settings
Go to System - Display
Scroll down to the Advanced graphics settings or 'Graphics' on win 11.
Set app type to either Universal or Desktop

If LS is not in the list then add it to the list using the Browse button.

Click on LS in the list, click on Options.
Select GPU. by selecting
"High performance" for GPU
"Power Saving" for IGPU

you want 'High Performance'
Do this for both LS and the game

Now both your game and Lossless Scaling should be using the GPU

Enable AMD features (anti-lag etc) for each GPU from AMD Radeon Software
Global Settings - Graphics
GPU 1 should set the defaults for the IGPU
GPU 2 should be for RX 560X
(it should show which is which when you select them)

Enable game specific AMD features from AMD Radeon Software.
the "Gaming" tab contains game profiles.

right click desktop select AMD Radeon Software,
Under "Gaming" click LS / Game (add it to the list if not in the list already)
Select the options you want.
Click "Launch Game"

After launching Lossless Scaling, you will need to yuse the back button in Radeon Software so you can get back to the games list to open the game.

I usually set anti-lag for both LS and the game, but other options might only want setting just for LS or just for the Game, you will need to play with it and find which works best.
Would it be beneficial to turn on radeon image sharpening ? I usually use it at 90% (which I know is pretty high). Should I turn it off?

Also thank you so much for helping me! You are great!

90% seems a bit sharp :-), the more sharpening the lower the FPS, so it does consume some resources . I generally have it ~ 40% mark. if you use NIS instead of FSR you need to turn it down even further, even off would be fine I think,

~30-50% sharpness usually fine , but up you, play with it see what you like.
Try the 'Optimised Version' can add a few FPS, not much difference in image quality.
NIS works too (Nvidia Image Scaling), may lose a few FPS and I can't really see any difference in quality except it is massively over sharpened, so will need to turn sharpening down/off.

Did you get a FPS boost now?
