Lossless Scaling

1080p on 4K display - integer scaling/pixel doubling (Windows 10)
If you want integer scaled 1080p on 4K display (pixel doubling):

Go to Display Settings (right click menu on somewhere on desktop)
Use a 200% scale ("Scale and Layout"). The desktop should look like you have 1080p display.
Click "Advanced scaling settings". Make sure the "Let Windows try to fix etc" is UNCHECKED.

This only works in BORDERLESS WINDOW mode, with any game that supports it.

If it still doesn't work, right click on the specific game's executable, go to Properties/Compatibility
Click "Change high DPI settings".
UNCHECK the upper checkbox ("Use this setting to fix ....").
CHECK the lower checkbox ("Override high DPI...."). Use the "System" option in that droplist.
The game should now scale to borderless fullscreen, and the specified resolution will show 1920x1080.

At a closer look , every 1080p pixel will show on 4-pixel square of the native 4k, exactly. Just try getting a zoomed, focused photo with your phone.

The solution shouldn't depend of the graphics card's brand.
Again, this only works in BORDERLESS WINDOW modes.

You're welcome :)

This doesn't work if the game in question has been tagged as high DPI aware.
EDIT: I didn't notice the part where you override the scaling in Properties.
