Extremely low performance
I just bought this game and I'm getting extremely poor performance (about 20 fps average) no matter how I set the graphics I get the same average fps making the game almost unplayable. I'm running it on a Macbook Pro mid-2012 i7-3720QM @2.6ghz (8 cores). 8GB RAM DDR3 1600mhz, Nvidia GeForce GT 650M 1GB. Windows 8 Pro 64 bits (boot camp)

question is, is there a solution for this?? anyone else experiencing the same?

try some other nvidia drivers...whql or the newest beta...at last the 650m isn t that fast but 20fps is a lil bit to less i guess
I've got the same problem with performance at 8 while at 7 it runs perfectly.

I tried the last beta drivers and everything still the same... never tried it on windows 7 but but every other game runs perfectly well. I have tried arma 2, borderlands 2, saints row the third, max payne 3, dead island and other. no problem at all. TDU 2 is the only game running with this low fps problem.

Maybe this will help you: user sparcopt wrote on steam forum: If you have any headphones pluged in, disconect the mic. I did so, and it helped! Even no restart is needed. Just unplug the mic and wait for few moments.

Your graphics card it's the problem.

No it isn't as I'm running it at 1080p all medium settings (AA off) with the 650m and getting around 50 fps in built-up areas and 60+ fps open road. Must be an operating system problem.

Well it is, GTX 650 is not a gaming card, and we're talking about the 650m which is more weaker, for games it's the GTX 650 "Ti" at the mininum.

lol u made my day xD

What? You have previously stated that Gians low performance in relation to running TDU2 is due to his 650m graphics card, which it obvioulsy isn't! As I've just stated, I too have the 650m and am running the game @ 1080p medium settings with an average frame rate of around 50fps.

If you're getting 20FPS~ with any graphics settings combo, then it sounds like you might want to check your power options for Windows, as it might be restricting the amount of power that the CPU and/or GPU are getting.

Check the Power Throtte or P-State, which controls the GPU clock. If this is not changing to the max GPU clock setting when the game is running, then it will be slow and laggy. I have the GeForce GTX 675M and the game was operating with the Core clock at 51 MHz, Memory at 135 MHz, and Shader at 101 MHz. I had to fix mine and the game works excellent now on my nVidia based GPU laptop. You can also try looking at tools like RivaTuner, which may help.

First of all thank you everyone for your comments. I got it fixed but not sure how. I didn't played this in the last weeks. Nvidia released a new driver update and steam got updated too. When I ran it a moments ago to check the GPU clock while playing it gave me 35-40 fps average on max settings 1440x900. So I guess it was the driver update that fixed it.

Shouldn't have spent 2000 more for a "name" ;)

But... The fruit on the lid... It glows! That's worth $2,000 just by itself! Steve said so!

I kid, I kid... I have a MacBook Air myself and love it. Doesn't beat my desktop by any means, though ;).

You need to run the program in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode.
Worked for me.
