Test Drive Unlimited 2 [Error #03]
I have just updated my TDU2 and this error occurred:
An error occurred while installing components.
Please check your permissions to access files on the directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Test Drive Unlimited 2\", then restart the update.

If the problem persists, contact Atari technical support.

[ERROR #03]

There are two options: Retry and Cancel. If I click Retry, the same error occurs, with the same options. And if I keep clicking Retry, the same thing happens, until another error occurs saying there is not enough space in the Hard Disk.
If I click Cancel, the option Play appears. If I click it, the game doesn’t run.
I’ve already sent an support E-mail to Atari, but they didn’t answered.
Please, help me!

This is what you get for installing Games (or Steam in this case) to the default Location in "ProgramFiles". This Folder is protected by Windows UAC and this is what is bugging you.
Possible Solutions:
- disabling UAC (bad move, not recommended - its there for a reason ;) )
- Move your whole Steam Install out of that directory, install Steam to c:\steam for example
(best Solution in the long run but can be painfull if you have installed a lot of games
- Running the Steam Application "as Administrator". To do that, end Steam, open Explorer and look for Steam.exe, rightclick on it and choose "runas Administrator" and try again

Hope this helps a bit, good luck

oh, i did not know this protection also watches over "program files". that's the perfect explanation, thx. I know what to do.

Well, after a year I decided to install TDU2 again. I never install games on my C drive (128gb ssd), so it's always on a seperate drive for games online. Getting #03 as well without any luck solving it. ♥♥♥♥ it then :( .. Atari f'd up the game (ánd TDU1) anyway ..

I get the same thing under Windows XP which doesn't protect the program folder in such a mannor. I think something else is going on.

i pressed retry and got this:

There is not enough space on "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam.2\steamapps\common\Test Drive Unlimited 2\" to install the update.
The update requires 5,15 TB more available space.

[ERROR #07]

and where i should get that 5TB more space
