TDU2 The Worse Car Simulator Game I Have Encountered
There are games out there that do itself justice like with the original Need For Speed series for example. Power sliding, drifiting, etc., all of the good stuff that we could do in real life in the safety and comfort of our own computers. Test Drive was decent, and now the Unlimited Series needs more than just help. It requires a major lession in physics.

Traction is important in the real world model of a car and the arcade like physics of some games I have encountered feel better than what TDU2 has to offer. Power sliding is virtually impossible in cars that would normally be possible in real world applications. Need For Speed got this down right with the latest batch of the series. I can't call the Current NFS series to be a simulator as there are quite a bit of arcade like qualities in the game, but I have to say it much more fun if not with the boring plot to drive the cars and crash into things than with TDU2. I haven't heard of the idea of crashing into a car as a mere crunch on a soda bottle while bouncing away from the object being run into. The physics modeling is utter crap full stop.

Cars don't steer like their suppose to thus rendering this game a complete waste of money. Since Atari and Eden Games don't offer any form of support, I can say that this game isn't worth my time. I bought the game for the fact that I have several friends who say it is good and we can race each other. So if they are listening and reading this post (doubt it), Thanks for Nothing. NFS has a better grasp at physics modeling where when one pulls the handbrake while in a turn, expect to either be whipped around or upsidedown.

Steering is utter crap, the races are decent but when you can steer at speed with or without a good gaming controller, it still renders the game "Crap". (I will not use any profanity - the game isn't worth the swear words).

Aside from the slew of cars though, the game is worse than crap.

Oh Well, I think it is time to dust off some of the games I have in storage that play better than TDU2. I still have a copy of NFS-Porsche Unleashed. Even that game has better physics modeling than with TDU2. What does that say about the Test Drive Unlimited Series. Not much I am afraid.

For those who end up reading this would say that I am biased. Well forgive me if I am talking down about this game. I have purchased a considerable amount of racing and vehicle simulator games so I have some knowledge of what the physics are in a typical difference between virtual and real world. For starters, I have done some real world racing thus I understand what is over/under steer. Almost every car in TDU2 under steers to rather extreme degrees. Usually a tap/pull on the hand brake should aid in the steering (with the Hardcore Setting), but TDU2 for some reason behaves like the car has the traction control set to full when in a typical game setting like the old TDK World Racing, the car would either steer in the direction you are heading with or without the hand brake, or the driver would accidentally be put in a 180-degree reversal.

Mind everyone here in NFS-Most Wanted 2012 version, the steering is quite slow which can be frustrating to many, but all one has to do is either tap on the brake lightly or pull the hand brake to get the car to turn in the direction desired. I have played almost every NFS game launched so I have witness the improvements in the physics modeling. TDU2 has the worst physics configuration I have ever experience.

- This is not a simulator. If you want realistic physics, go play [insert a list of respectable simulations here].
Yet the problem with TDU2 is not "realistic" physics. It's no physics at all.

What's the problem? Are you saying iRacing is too difficult?
Holy Zeus! You must be an evolutionary masterpiece! You cleverly cracked the code and got the real meaning hidden under the words "TDU2 has nothing passable as physics". I have to change my encryption algorithm now. Bravo genius.

I will wait patienty for "The Crew". I read the press release and it suppose to combine real world physics modeling in a driving/racing simulator.

As for fun, aside from the very bad physics modeling, I agree with the group here that it is a bit enjoyable with social aspects.
yeah, I would believe advertisement from ubisoft too^^
go for a racing sim thats already out there (LfS ftw :))

I didn't read the Ads (no Offense here D.A.) I have had the opportunity to test the game out. Physics are quite nice thus I will wait patiently for the game to launch.
' I still have a copy of NFS-Porsche Unleashed' That's funny that's by same devs isn't it?

You're wrong op, who's to say what's good driving anyway? It's a game - any drivings cool don't care bout supposed realism and all this rubbish as long as it's steerable. seems fun to me with keyboard, not too difficult or arcadey. can use different inputs too, keyboard is naturally gonna change ♥♥♥♥ up with its binary input. It's amazing - the interior views, open world (and especially off-road open world), amount of cars, looking around your car interior and opening windows, decent radios, getting out of the car sometimes, etc... Basically got no clue what you haters on about. it's sick as ♥♥♥♥. better than burnout paradise/NFS HP imo, I mean it would win just for the radio...

How cool is exploring off-road and how big the map is? wasn't expecting that at all. haven't you guys tried to explore it? good for chilling with
In my opinion (TDU2 fanboy) Test Drive Unlimited 2 is the best (complete driving game), but here is this:

About title this thread "TDU2 The Worse Car Simulator Game I Have Encountered" we can say "TDU2 isn't worse 'driving game'".

Well, I've played the game for about 20 minutes (after that it crashed and never started again) and the first things I've tought were "What the hell is this ♥♥♥♥?". I mean the physics of some cars are ok but when you want to play with a muscle car and the car needs 5 seconds to leave the starting position (because youre going on full speed) this isn't funny.
You REALLY need a controller or better a steering wheel to play this game. I wish the game would recognize my steering wheel. EVERY OTHER GAME recognized the wheel but TDU2 won't.
So I really regret buying this game. NEVER had so much problems with a new game. Not even GTA IV!
I'm really disapointed.
thats typical problems for games published by atari, just dont buy form them, ever
Well, i just have fun with it :D
just bought sonic transformed racing .. way better than tdu...and more fun and crowded servers

lol i got that game for free with PSN and i still find it garbage. TDU2 isn't a great game but it's better than sonic lol
I bought this retail a while ago, thinking it was a step-up from TDU. L-O-L. I don't know how much I've played it, maybe 20-30 minutes or some more. I can't really comment on the physics, it's a while ago, but I wasn't impressed to say the least (seemed to react very slow from controller input too).

But the single most amazing thing that struck me about this game? They removed TrackIR support! How could they possibly do that? (Yeah there is a mod to fix TrackIR somewhat, but I found it a bit cumbersome, but it did work. Rest of the game didn't really justify fiddling more with it though).

I enjoy TDU from 2006 much more. That one HAVE TrackIR support, go figure! Oh, and snappy menues! Click-click-click- GO!

(I don't remember how the GUI menues and such is in TDU2, but some games just are a real bore to wait for unskippable blah blah intros and such for a scatterbrain that soon decides to do something else instead).
For $5, this game might be worth it for you. At that price point, you can definitely get some fun out of it, and laugh along with the horrible voice acting and Grand Theft Auto style car physics. Other than that, TDU2 is pretty horrible. I'm embarassed to have paid $50 for it when it was released.
If you want a racing sim get one of these games on steam
Race07 and all of the dlcs
GTR 1/2
GT legends
Dirt 2/3 (dirt 2 yanked off of steam)
Nfs shift 1/2
Asseto Corsa
Race Room Experience (free to play)

There are other games liks
iracing
rfactor
lfs

When some one says racing sim TDU does not come to mind.... I think of the arcadey games like Grid and the NFS games minus shift.....

But man the game is 5 bucks right now..... you still can't lose. Steam is pratically giving games away.

Also adding on to other comments, this game is called test drive unlimited, not test drift unlimited, this game is where you can test drive cars and race them around tracks, i mean yes the damage and crashing physics are crap but other than that it is a fun game.
