I admit: a child on a keyboard can beat the single player races. However, the game is not about the single player experience at all.
This.
Also it's an arcade racer. Don't expect realism in every game you play.
Blah blah something about someone who doesn't seem to know what rude even means blah blah.
I didn't state that I wanted to slide a car immediately. I can do that in real life as I have when attending some of the performance driving courses. I occasionally assist in these courses whenever my buddy asks me to. As I have stated, there are other car racing programs that have close to real world physics and TDU2 is far from what was originally intended. I have skill, but can't be fully utilized in TDU2.
As for the person saying BLAH BLAH BLAH. Back at you BULL BULL BULL. BAKA BAKA BAKA.
I am one for fun and close to what is intended. If it were an arcade like experience, then I would have passed on this game. The controller I am using depends on my mood. Both are mapped into the program so during the exploration phase, I use the Logitech G27 set to manual. When I race however, i am using an older Gravis Pad with full linear controls and the shifts set to sequential. This configuration works well with the six other racing sims I have in my collection outside of Steam.
All comments here of course are biased thus people tend to say rather rude things or make assumptions based on what information is posted. I didn't intend to offend anyone here, but merely an observation. I am an IT professional as a secondary trait and operate a company servicing the US, Germany, Japan, and Hong Kong. The other day job is teach and research (6-months out of the year in US and the 6 in Germany) Particle Physics and Electro-Optics at Caltech, UC-Irvine, and University of Hamburg, Germany.
To understand skill and obtain a driver's license in Germany, the tests are rather comprehensive when compared to the US. That is why I spent the extra effort to learn defensive and performance driving. So don't immediately jump to conclusion that I lack skill. I played enough of these games to understand the driving habit and design.
Take care everyone and have a great week. I will continue to play TDU2 since I chose to purchase the game despite what mess the physics are. The scenery is quite spectacular. Plus I do enjoy driving and with this, I don't physically have to leave my home to do it. Though live scenery is much more pleasant. But If home is my destination, then this game will help that.
In my opinion, give me a much more real feelings about driven a normal car than any NFS.
But, is only my opinion... :-)
???
TDU2 isn't a "Car Simulator" :P
TDU2 is a "Drive game", and is very funny and complete:
- Free Sandbox (NFSx isn't)
- Rol/social game (you can rol a player character) (NFS isn't).
- Without ficticial and uglies lighting arrows floatting in middle of races (the worse idea and no real on NFS).
- You can drive with car's interior view (NFS isn't, I believe).
- A lot of different challengers (races, take a picture of locations, Casino -game within game-, a lot of tests drive, to buy houses and boards, and cars...
- You can up/down car windows (does it is possible on NFS?).
- Fight with other players when you wish it, when you see other car going to you.
- And ... why not free drive and enjoy, only for pleasure (NFS?).
- ...
- ...
- ...
TDU2 is the very best "DRIVE GAME". Also "without" physic.
As for the last commen made by Axesdynd, do you know how to drive under real pressure and not under some gaming situation. I have taken Performance driving courses when I purchased my first 2006 BMW M3, 2008 VW GTI, and 2009 Ferrari 612 (used), and these cars require a bit of physics understanding before handling in real life. As I have stated in the second comment posted, I have met the developers of TDU2 and Atari felt the need to dumb down the overwhelming physics as the open drive concept was in effect sufficient enough.
All and all, since I purchased the game, I figure with a bit of work with my group of developer friends, I think we can work with another group of modders to make TDU2 much more realistic. When one say this is a Drive mode game, then why offer so many real world features such a choice of auto, seq, and manual H-gate configuration. I find that mixture of features to be a contradiction in a sense. This is my OCD nature.
Tdu2 is not your sort of game. Tdu2 has many cheats-aka-modders, who bought Tdu2 but dont like it [cos they can't drive], so they hack the game and troll the forums.
No, yklee, traction is not important. Physics is not important. What is important, is an ability to adapt to the gamestyle. Tdu2 is more about friends and fun than so-called physics.
Tdu2 traction? You should see the Spyker-Peking-to-Paris climbing Oahu mountain, very steep but the car sticking to the track like Velcro; totally unrealistic and silly but it's fun.
You can try the Tdu2 physics; Learn to Drive at Tdu2 race schools. Never try to Drift in a race. It's bad driving and slow. Faster is brake into apex, turn, and accel out.
But never turn and brake at the same time, you will spin out.
I began driving on p.c. with Toca3, Race07, Rfactor, Grid, Dirt, Richard Burns Rally.
My favourite was Simbin's Race07/RaceOn. But then... Feb-2011; Tdu2 arrived! Taking Number One spot, all platforms, in game charts. Demoting other race games to the past.
I use g27 wheel.
I've learned to Steer and Brake and to Drive well in Tdu2 and it's a pleasure.
I can still revert to 'normal' and have fun in Nfs-Shift - which is a very good driving model, and great forcefeedback. Tdu2 has no FFB. But Tdu2 fans like it just the way it is and accept it, as a whole. Tdu2 has photorealistic graphics too, not many games can say that.
I put a screenshot of Tdu2 to my desktop background; road, fields, trees, sky. I swear I can't tell it from a real photo. Especially the trees. You can't tell. And that was in 2011, way ahead of its time, and still is. Wait til you see the mess that Ea games will make of freeroam in their new nfs-Rivals [out this month].
Nobody can come close to Tdu2. Not by a long way.
Tdu2; A seamless merge of single player and multiplayer.
Visit your friends at their houses. Chat with others. Make more friends.
Dress up your Avatar. Get a facelift. Get a haircut. Get your licences.
The driving schools are great for teaching you how to drive in Tdu2.
Buy 100 cars. Go to your house. Buy furniture. Put your photos in the picture frames.
Go to your Club, and Race! Cruise together many thousands of miles. Chat in Freeride.
Drive to the Airport, fly to Ibiza. Try the Sticker Shop art challenge! There's Casino dlc too which complements the game and is a great place to rest and recover from hard racing.
The Tdu2 storyline is brilliant. The Solar Crown races are fun. All the aspects of the game come together and make Tdu2 into a virtual world. Tdu2 is very replayable.
:)
* KITTenTDU2.
most will say "I love exploring" and "cruising around with friends " they are not racing this is a cruise simulator
