Where Can I find the retail version of TDU2?
Guys I need your help on something. I had the retail version of TDU2, I bought it when it came out in 2011. Then yesterday I decided to buy the steam version on sale to give this game as a gift to a friend of mine. But since I want my games to be on Steam, I thought it was a good idea to get the Steam version for myself and to give my retail CD key to my friend. SO I would have the steam version and he could have my old retail version.

I checked and this method can work. You can put as many times you want the retail CD key with different profiles and it activates the game. But of course you can't have 2 people playing with the same key at the same time.I was on a friends PC with a pirated copy of TDU2 and instead of using the crack I inserted my CD key and he got a legit version, so it works.

The problem is. I can't find the retail files of TDU2. The retail version of the game aka. The steam version doesn't ask you for a key, so I need to find the retail files for TDU2 in order to give my friend my old retail key to get it to work. I already tried some torrents but most of them are either steam versions or repacked versions and I can't use my key.

SO I need to ask you for two things. First.. Is it possible to delete some files on the steam version in order to make it work like the retail one? And the second.. where can I find a retail version of TDU2 online without being precracked. I need a pirated version of the game and instead of using the crack to use my CD key and activate the game legitimately. Any ideas?

Have had exacty the same problem; purchased a legal retail key but could not find the TDU2 download source. (My other digital keys always came with a game-files download url)

"Digital River" is doing Atari 's digital sales but does not offer TDU2 installation files.

ATARI[support.atari.com] does not have access to the products purchased digitally from the Atari.com or Testdriveunlimited2.com as those are provided by Digital River[www.digitalriver.com], please refer to them for any downloading issues or refunds. Their customer support information is:
webhelp@digitalriver.com
• Phone Number 1-800-310-2850

All other search results were leading to cracked versions, kind of frustrating when you just want to play the game legal.

In the end I found a torrent that included a clean retail dvd image, the "cracked" files were in separate folder.

Burned the clean TDU2 image to a DVD and installed game with purchased key.
Do remember making a back-up from that download, but where? :(

Still have not found it but am still searching, will let you know when I found it.
If its lost I could upload the dvd image for you, at least if that is not illegal.

Thanks so much for the detailed response. The thing is I have the retail version that came with the DVD. Everything is working fine on both the retail version and the Steam version. What I need is to find the retail files somewhere onliine to give them with a link to my friend so that he can download them and then install the game using my retail cd key. I guess I could upload the original files of TDU2 retail from the DVD to mediafire but this would take a los of time..

For now I pointed him to a cracked version online and I told him not to install the crack. So hopefully it may ask for a cd key. Otherwise I need to upload the retail files myself.

What do you mean? I wasn't talkiing about hacking or cracking anything. I just need the retail files. The ones I have from the steam version doesn't require a retail cd key. So I need the retail files to activate the game with my cd key.

You can purchase legal retail-keys but the TDU2 game installation files are not provided.
At least there is no official support and download site; you only get find hacked, cracked and modded results (many!) :(

Atari and TDU2 being "lolol smart"?!
