I unpacked to my network drive and it took me approximately 26 hours to fully unpack. Not 20 minutes. Then I installed the patch. But there was no Universal Launcher. So I uninstalled patch. Reinstalled patch. No Universal Launcher still. Yesterday unpacked and left the machine on the whole of last night for the game to be reinstalled. This morning couldn't play the vanilla. Had to get Steam to verify installation and it still wont work. I can't even play offline. Really frustrating.

Make sure in Knyazev's Universal Launcher settings you point it to steam's tdu2 directory.

Also, be sure to give tdu2 permission through your system's firewall.

Here is a steam post that might be helpful.

Well its better now; Unpacking now only takes 14 hours. I was searching and found Uni Launcher 3.3. Still does not work. I've already allowed through my firewall. Never thought I needed it since I wanted to test for offline. No splash screen. Nothing. After reading your link I need to change to my old build 034 and Unpack again. We shall see.

Wow, that unpacking time is off the charts. I've installed the patch several times over the last few years and never had anything like that. Usually takes 3-4 minutes to unpack. I put the universal launcher in the tdu2 directory and create a shortcut on my desktop pointing to the directory.

Here is a step-by-step video on YouTube that might help:

When drive with patch cars(lambo etc), turn off online interactions, because all players, who not use unofficial patch see lancia with freaky blue wheels. :))))) Only people also with patch see lambo etc..

Well it gets better everytime. 10 hours now. I let it unpack overnight and it was still arranging files in the morning. And that was only unpacking. Patching takes one or two hours. I unpack to a network drive its got lots of space > 200GB. But yeah. So I did it on 034 and it still will not work. I checked the Task Manager and the process or service never came up.

dont unpack directly to a network drive
unpack to your pc then .rar it and move it over.

bobdbilder,

After following your post, I got curious and wanted to see if I could duplicate your problems.

I uninstalled TDU2 from Steam and deleted all folders and files pertaining to it. Cleaned it off my system completely.

I downloaded it again from Steam and let it do its thing (updated the 1+GB file and such). After giving tdu2 permission through my firewall I made a online profile and started the game.

After the intro, getting my car and going to my house I left the game and created a folder on my desktop and put the Universal Launcher v3.3 zip file, the tdu2 unpacker v2.2 zip file and the tdu2 patch (for unpacked).exe in it.

For the universal launcher I copied the tdu2 offline.bat, online.bat and universal launcher.exe to the steam tdu2 directory. I created a shortcut on my desktop for the universal launcher.exe. When you open the TDU2 Universal Launcher click on 'Tool' in the upper left hand corner and select 'Settings'. Make sure that the steam tdu2 directory path is in the 'Select the TDU2 root folder' box.

For the unpacker I sent all files to the steam tdu2 directory. Then I double clicked on the unpack_full.bat file and let it unpack. Took about 3 minutes.

Last of all, I double clicked the tdu2_patch_(for_unpacked).exe and directed it to the steam tdu2 directory. It installed the patch and I launched the game with the universal launcher. The splash screen came up with 'tdu2 unofficial patch' on it. I clicked start and was taken back to the house where I had left off.

It all took about ten minutes after I left the game from the steam fresh install.

Hope this helps, if not I'd be looking at something else as the problem.

My pleasure, I'm sure you will thoroughly enjoy tdu2 all the more. :>)

Just about given up on the game but I have noticed Civ 5 is also not seen in my Network drive even after I disabled the Windows7 Firewall. I needed to put all my games on the Network drive so that my kids could also play in on their laptops instead of hogging my desktop. I understand the problem would only be loading times. I still have my SimBin Race07 games on D drive which is a SATA.

Guys I heard this will be official some time or am i wrong?

WRONG! All who use the Unpack Patch are cheat hackers.
Unwanted, unpopular, and dumbass to dilute game they paid for.
It clearly states in Tdu2 Tos and Eula, Do not unpack files. No Mods allowed.
