I cant launch the game over steam?

I just bought the game but it dosent work launching it over steam, am i able to fix that to get achievements and track time played?

What happens if you launch the game via Steam?
Normally, you first get "an error occurred while downloading files" because the game server and update server were switched off in 2018. Click cancel, wait about 30 seconds until the connection times out, then you can click play and choose to play offline.

You can also get Steam achievements and the like if you use the TDU World mod[turboduck.net], which is the only way to play online.

Why this doesn't work for me ??? no online connection :(

When i launch it i get this.

The game did not properly install on this system.
Please try to install the game again using the installer (DVD or downloaded installer).

If the problem persists, contact Atari technical support.

Which version of the game are you trying to play?
1. Unpatched TDU2 straight from Steam?
2. Manually patched TDU2 (see the first step in the link in my previous reply)?
3. TDU World?

I have the 034 version with error #01 so I select cancel to play and then yes to offline

So does the game launch successfully? While creating a profile in the game, you have to press the blue Offline button (since the servers are gone), not the green OK button.

For me, I try to launch the game from the launcher and it says "Test Drive Unlimted 2 has to be launched by Steam"

If you have the Steam version of TDU2, Steam has to be running in the background to play. Even with TDU World if you use steam_api.dll. Or is Steam running and you get this error message anyway?

I uninstalled the game and now its working :D
