Not sure what's the unlock code it asks for. If that's a Securom thing, this means the automatic activation failed for whatever reason and you have to do something manually. Follow the steps it asks you to.
If it asks you to create a profile on testdriveunlimited2.com, ignore and skip, you don't need it to play the game.

If your game is updated and nothing happens when you press "Play" in the launcher, google "tdu2 doesn't start" for some tips like closing all programs that can use your sound system, including browsers, Skype, Discord.
