iVRy Driver for SteamVR

iVRy Driver for SteamVR

iVRy  [developer] Sep 23, 2020 @ 2:59am
Experimental PS4 camera tracker available
This tracker is being made available for anyone that would like to experiment with the 'PSVRTracker' project:

https://github.com/HipsterSloth/PSVRTracker

It's not necessary to build or download the 'PSVRTracker' project, although obviously if you want to help in its development you'll need to do so. You will need to unZIP the contents of the download into a 'PSVRService' folder in the iVRy driver installation (in the 'steamapps\common\iVRy' folder of your Steam installation):

http://www.mediator-software.com/iVRy/PSVRService_072120.zip

You will need to run the 'PSVRConfigTool.exe' configuration utility before using it. Once installed, the tracker should be available in the drop-down list in the iVRy settings.

This is posted "AS IS" for anyone that would like to experiment with it, and is not going to be developed further by me. The source code for the tracker process will be made available soon (however, to improve this tracker, the work needs to be done on 'PSVRTracker' itself).

There is another PS4 camera tracker that is in current development on Linux (Monado), which will most likely be used with iVRy, once it has been ported to Windows.

NOTE: Using this tracker will take over the PSVR USB from the iVRy driver, so some iVRy driver functions (regards PSVR LEDs and buttons) will not work when this tracker is in use.

can't seem to find an adapter to buy to give it a shot

I'm not sure there is much value in pursuing this right now, however you can contact 'hackinside' on Reddit as he is manufacturing adapters.

got my adapter today, gonna give it a shot in a week or so since Black Ops: Cold War is out and i'm grinding that game for now

got around to try the tracker today and i can't get it to work, both the VR View in SteamVR and the view in the HMD are stuck, setting "virtual_hmd_count": "1" in the "HMDManagerConfig" leads to the "ivry_psvr_tracking.exe" to close before SteamVR and iVRy launch.

if you (the dev) know and fix to those, let me know, thanks

You will need to run the 'PSVRConfigTool.exe' configuration utility before using it. You certainly should not be editing any config files.

i did and those things mentioned are the outcome of it, should i reinstall SteamVR as a whole? (with deleting all files so it's a clean install)

do i have to install some other drivers using Zadig maybe? reading things here (https://github.com/HipsterSloth/PSVRTracker/issues/3) but idk if that's for my actual issue

just reinstalled steamVR with iVRy from a clean slate and it seems to start up normally, yet the camera isn't tracking movement (it seems to work now unlike before where it locked up)
i don't have tracker settings in the PSVRConfigTool when i go in there (see: https://gyazo.com/5d82b7759f4c2e9c4901d21f3fa4b988 ) so there's nothing for me to set up

virtual_hmd_count 1 still locks it up

Looks like PSVRTracker isn't recognising your camera. Maybe something is different with the official adapter? Maybe something else? Hard to tell with no official adapter to test with.

it could be, but why should it not work with an adapter? that'd be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ move from sony to somehow ♥♥♥♥ with the signal through an adapter

windows recognised it but i can't remember if it installed something

Who knows? Driver4VR developer says there's something different. Monado developers say there isn't. Camera by itself can't and doesn't do anything on Windows, needs to have some PS4 firmware loaded into it. You can try this driver and see if you can at least make it work as a camera on Windows:

https://psxdev.github.io/luke2.html

Needs to be connected to an actual USB3 port (and not via a hub), or it definitely won't work.

I tried both a USB2 and USB3 ports, same results on both

It's a USB3 camera. It won't work on a USB2 port. Full stop.

No, it is to test compatibility of Sony adapter.
