If you don't allow Steam to install the monitor driver for VR-Direct, then the next time you start SteamVR, it won't be able to enable VR-Direct, and you'll repeat the sequence.
And everything was fine until recently apparently without changing anything
Is there any other info I can give you?
if i try to open ivry directly from the desktop icon i get stuck in the boot screen that mentions the execution of an installation script but i dont get nothing else on screen no matter how much i wait
- Set driver mode to "VR-Direct" in iVRy settings
- Exit SteamVR. DO NOT start/restart SteamVR
- Open command prompt and navigate to the 'steamapps\common\iVRy\win64\bin' folder of your Steam installation
- Type: SETMONITOR FORCE
- Start SteamVR normally
permission problem apparently solved, but the iVRy problem remains! :-(
On a working system, with correctly connected PSVR (make sure nothing is connected to TV port on PSVR box) the manual instructions given should restore VR-Direct mode.
1) uninstalled everything (iVRy, Driver4VR, all devices in devices manager) and reinstalled the softwares, also tried ManualInstall.bat in the iVRy folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\iVRy\bin\win64)
2) fixed permission issues with Steam, following the second last message in this thread:
https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/135514151379073532/
3) with the pc turned off, i unplugged the HDMI cable that goes from the processor unit to the graphic card as suggested in another discussion, booted the system, turned off and then plugged again the HDMI cable.
notice how i tried either with or without the tv hdmi port connected and now, as already did before, i'm able again to switch the PSVR within my ps4 slim and pc with an hdmi switch, i again suspect something went wrong after an NVIDIA, Steam and/or iVRy upgrade
