- Only support AUX camera connection on PS4. PS5 camera can't be connected via AUX
- Look for Sony PS4 camera adapter on PS5 (it's a USB hub with VID_054C&PID_0D0B). If adapter is present, camera is PS4. If not, camera is PS5.
I expect PS4 camera won't work on PS5 with eBay adapter. So, on PC, we either can't support eBay adapter or can't support PS5 camera (there is no way to tell the difference in boot mode). This means the user must load the firmware for PS5 camera, because once the firmware is loaded we can tell the difference.
BTW. PS5 firmware loads onto PS4 camera, and VID/PID changes to PS5 camera (so it boots to some degree), BUT no images, so no good.
I've had to disable PS5 camera firmware loading. So, you can use the PS5 camera for tracking, but you will need to manually load the firmware with OrbisEyeCam to use it. If you try to use it without doing that, it will load the PS4 firmware and won't work.
For details regards PS5 camera firmware loading:
