Unable to Start GearVR installation on S20+

Hi, upon trying to install the GearVR files on my S20+, I am only greeted with a black screen. I later found that this was the iVRy app, and it appears to be linked to the one in the Play Store, but the GearVR files does not install as it does on my Note 8. Any advise?

Perhaps GearVR is not supported on S20+? In any case Play Store version of iVRy does not support GearVR. GearVR version must be installed from Steam.

Hi, yes, S20+ no longer officially supports Gear VR, but I have seen another user in this discussion that stated he was using an S20, so it does seem to be still possible.

That's the odd thing, I didn't install the iVRy app from the Play Store; I installed it while USB tethered from Steam, using the Launch menu to install the Gear VR support files. (I have the iVRy driver and free version of Gear VR DLC installed). What happened is I would get the black screen, then nothing.

I go into recent apps, and realise the black screen is the iVRy app. I then go into Play Store and realise that the Play Store iVRy app is installed. So I uninstall it, go back to Steam, and reinstall from Launch, and I would get the same thing - the iVRy app runs but shows only a black screen. If I check Play Store, it is installed again.

Oddly, if I did not start from Steam but runs the installed iVRy app from my app drawer, it thens shows the iVRy logo instead of a black screen.

The problem is reproducible on my end, any advice?

Uninstall and install from Play Store, unless you have working GearVR (ie. insert phone into headset, see Oculus Home).
