iVRy Driver for SteamVR

iVRy Driver for SteamVR

iMac 2019 + Vega 48
Hi folks. Does anyone else have iMac 2019 27" 5k and Vega 48 (non egpu)?
I have two different type-c - hdmi adapter and for sure second have alt mode. First one doesn't work at all on MacOS or Windows and second works fine with TV. With PSVR I got like disconnect/connect loop without sound. Sometimes is see with passthrough-box or without second or two second fine picture and then start loop and freezing almost everything before I disconnect hdmi or usb (hdmi adapter).

Cannot see if it's RGB mode or not on AMD settings and CRU says 150MHz and changing to 300MHz doesn't do a job.

I have tried custom resolutions, register tweaks (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers), tried another port. Cannot see anything to fix anymore.

TL;DR: Does someone have iMac without HDMI and everything working fine?

The official Apple adapter (USB-C -> HDMI & USB-A) works for PSVR on MacBook Pro (2019), and connected to Virtual Link port on recent GPUs. Can't speak for iMac, but as it's the latest model, I'd expect the same. You will need to use the Beta version of the iVRy driver to support VR-Direct (preferred) mode on Vega. The Beta version doesn't require any tweaks to be done to Windows or the AMD settings. Make sure you don't have anything plugged into the TV port on the PSVR "box". The iVRy driver doesn't currently support SteamVR on macOS.

Thanks. Gonna test right now. I used tv-out from passthrough fine with brother's computer and nvidia.

It is an unsupported configuration, so if you run into any issues, you will need to retest with TV-out disconnected before requesting support.

Still jumping on/off that connection in loop. Going like no hdmi - no usb - work - no hdmi - no usb - work. I think i need buy another adapter and it will be Apple adapter. Does it be normal to see in device manager sometimes another display with hardware id "monitor\svr1019"?

Can't do any changes in display settings or in amd settings, because that loop and it's freezing mouse same time.

What gpu you have with your macbook? Do your adapter say in device manager "billboard device"?

Another guestions: Do you need change/install drivers manual or does it normally do that automatic? I have 3 non installed devices (ps vr 3d audio, ps vr bulkin, ps vr h.264.

Sorry for asking stupid questions, but it's almost first time I cannot fix something.

It's possible if you are using VR-Direct mode. However, you should try to get it working in Virtual or Extended mode first.

It is Navi (Vega successor). There was a hardware change between Polaris and Vega that broke some things on AMD. I'm not sure about "billboard device", don't have macBook handy right now.

You should not be installing/uninstalling changing anything (drivers or AMD/Windows settings) manually if you are using the Beta version of the iVRy driver. Other versions probably won't work with Vega. You can ignore the missing (proprietary) USB devices they are not supported on Windows, and there are no drivers available and probably won't ever be.

If you need further support, please provide all information requested in "sticky" README post on forum.
Thank you for answer. Trying next to remove all and install again all stuff. Also need test different gpu drivers (from apple and modded). One thing I wondering it's my 5k display, because after connecting hdmi to usb (adapter) internal display moving, resizing, changing resolutions and stuff and stops after disconnecting, no matter resolution what was first. Sending logs and infromations if later if aint working yet.

Have only tested latest Apple Bootcamp GPU driver.
Tested too much things what could do a thing. Even tried put tape on hdmi pin 19 and then it not going detect at all, even manually, but still on/off problem and I giving up. Gonna buy another adapter.

With direct mode on and psvr output off from windows it do same thing as extend mode. Game working good and seeing picture, but like 2 seconds and off then couple seconds and on. Can't blame your's good work. Thanks for trying help. :)

Nice. Now it works even in direct mode. Unified_r3_19.30.01.33_whql_191121a-349047c is exactly drivers what needed.

EDIT: That wasn't about drivers. I think it's that 5k display what making trouples. Disalbed scaling from windows and now it works everytime. It caused scaling loop when connected psvr.

Damn. It wasn\t a drivers. Only way to get work with my adapter is small tape to pin 19. and almost full cover. So putting hdmi to box and puliing little bit to out to disconnecting pin 19 is only way to get image on. Otherwise it's doing on/of loop. So this is one way to solve that. :D
I don't if anybody have exactly problems, but im gonna make tutorial someday about this. It's so weird and internet doesn't show right way to fix my problems. Luckily that pin 19 trick works. Maybe someday I buy apple adapter and try that.

Short tips: if disconnect/connect loop causing problems, tape pin-19 almost covering full and but cable almost close and when hear/see connection, quick pull little bit to make trick to ignore if cable is connected. Now is possible install driver manual or automatic. Then when steamvr works and it regonize everything, put cable full to box. Some times it causing again on/off loop but not everytime. You see "no hdmi" in glasses before pushing cable full to box. Gonna make press switch to that cable this week. \o/

Last tip: You need see extended desktop without on/off loop first without steamvr running.
Tip to my self: Make more money and buy another computer for playing and make work only with mac :D

I recommend using the official Apple adapter. It's known to work with the PSVR, and costs less than another computer.

Sure is better solution if it work great with this setup too. So long need use that method what sucks. Cheers and thank you amazing work with everything. Also found so much answers from you to other people's problems what I appreciate very much.

This one has been tested on 16" Macbook Pro and VirtualLink port on nVidia GPU:

https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MUF82AM/A/usb-c-digital-av-multiport-adapter

I haven't tested any others, so can't say if they will or won't work.
