Is the experience any good like this?
I would love a PC headset but at present I’m not spending cash with the virus issues and the potential financial issues that are going to hit us. So using my existing psvr seems to make sense.
It's 3DOF and lacks motion controllers without additional hardware/software. For the majority of seated VR titles the lack of 6DOF does not have a large impact on the playability. When looking for compatible VR titles, you should look for those that are seated/standing (as opposed to room scale) and support a gamepad controller. These will all be indicated on the titles Steam store page.
It doesn't matter whether you find stuff important or not, it matters whether they are generally useful, whether other users have requested them and whether I believe they belong in the product or not. I have implemented other users' suggestions when they fit into the above criteria. Yours do not.
I’ll use this for now. I intend to get a full pc headset later but not for a while due to the virus outbreak and wanting to save some cash to prepare for any issues that may be ahead.
No, the Oculus Rift S is better than the PSVR in every way, apart from refresh rate. The tracking and controllers on the Rift S can only be matched/surpassed by using the PSVR with Lighthouse base stations and Index controllers. That configuration only makes sense as a eventual upgrade to an Index or Vive Pro headset (buy some of the hardware now, use it with a PSVR, buy the headset later), and will cost more than a Rift S.
