iVRy Driver for SteamVR

iVRy Driver for SteamVR

Cinematic Mode iVRy PS VR without launching Steam VR
I use iVRy PS VR premium edition. Thanks to the developers for the great program! Please add a cinematic mode so that you can recenter the position without launching Steam VR while the headset is working as a monitor. Steam VR, Virtual Desktop, Bigcreen beta require a lot of performance and expend fps. Needs recentering without running other programs like Steam VR and others. Thanks to the developers!

Hmm... I wait also for answers from this idea, but it could be a little hard I guess to do as it will need a new launcher to place the headset in the correct mode, not launching Steam VR.

Still, Virtual Desktop don't use that much of performance as it's the only one made in DirectX, and not just another engine running another thing.
With this one, I cane asilly play my games on 3D virtual screen for exemple with almost the same performance than when I play directly on my 3D Monitor ^^
(Tried with BigScreen, it's a big nope)

If you use Virtual Desktop with no background, it technically have just to render the screen on a simple mesh that he shape as you wish, and using codecs that are totally right today with the performance we have ^^

The others solutions just run Unity engine to just capture the stream and place it the same way on a mesh.
So it takes a lot of performane as Unity already really slow, working like an interprete for C# as I understood :/

(really, some games have just some dll files with all the game's code uncompiled in C#, making hacking and cracks really easy... wtf ? (but because of that, I've been able to fix some games in VR)
But I know that it start to be replaced for new compilation solution, but it will still be decoded to create a C# code so the Unity engine can interpret it... that reminds me of JAVA)

Thanks for the answer! I use the desktop to capture ps3, xbox one and wii u with a capture card. Recentering is a must in this mode. Virtual Desktop slightly blurs the picture and makes it floating, so it does not fit as those programs that work on Unity and others engines. When I use a headset as a monitor, the picture is great, but I can't recenter screen.
There is one way to use cinematic mode without any software but it requires you to have your PC, PS4 and DS4 on. You connect processor box HDMI the same way you would for iVRy but connect the USB to your PS4. Have the PS4 HDMI connected to a TV so you can see the PS4 UI. The PSVR should then be an additional monitor on your PC and be in cinematic mode. You can select the screen size the same way you would on the PS4 PSVR UI and when you want to recenter the screen you just press and hold the option button on the DS4. It's a lot but it works.

I have a PS4. When using the Options button on the PS4, the game is paused without the ability to reconfigure the controls, as well as a lot of content on the PC and other systems will not be centered that way. PS4 cannot be used to capture third-party content on a PC. I’m interested in the possibility of centering on a PC using iVRy for any content without launching 3D mode and third-party programs like TrinusVR that implemented cinematic mode. Because iVRy works better.

If you connect any HDMI out signal from most any source to the HDMI PS4 Port (HDMI IN) on the PSVR processor box and keep the USB from the processor box connected to the PS4, the HDMI content coming into the processor box will be displayed in the PSVR HMD in cinematic mode and the DS4 options button can be held down to have the PS4 signal the processor box to center the content within your view in the cinematic display. I know it works for the PC as I have played flat games and non 3D movies on my PC within the PSVR in cinematic mode this way. If you look far enough to the left or right of the cinematic content it will even show you the icon for holding down the DS4 Options button. I only use the DS4 to re-center the content displayed within the PSVR. Whatever cinematic screen size you have chosen last during your PSVR sessions on your PS4 is the size it will use during the PC cinematic sessions.

If you are connecting your PS3, Xbox One or Wii U to the PC just to be able to get the content onto the PSVR, you can just connect their HDMI out from those systems to the PSVR processor box's HDMI PS4 Port.

If you are actually capturing the content on your PC for publishing videos then disregard the last paragraph.

Thank you for your reply! Please help me figure out what I'm doing wrong. The inputs of processor hmd - micro usb (PS4), hdmi (Xbox One). Outputs of processor hmd - hdmi (headset), hdmi (TV). The options button for recentering on dualshock 4 does not work, the ps4 screen indicates to "connect the hdmi to the ps4 to the console and the tv as shown in the diagram". The screen is recentered automatically after putting on the headset. I use the second revision HMD with last updates. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Thank you!

I will be adding a standalone utility for "cinema mode" and other functions of PSVR that don't need SteamVR.
Good new Ivry, once again <3

Also, Virtual Desktop have Super Sampling ability to create a better quality, for me, there's no blur at all at 1080p@120Hz with 1.4x SuperSample ^^

I have the V1 PSVR so maybe it is different but on my system, even though the PS4 displays the full screen error with diagram, my system still allows me to press and hold the DS4 options button to recenter the content displayed within my PSVR. I checked it before my last post and it still works for me.

My connections are as follows:

PC HDMI out to PS4 HDMI Port on rear of Processor Box

I have nothing connected to TV HDMI port on rear of Processor Box

Micro USB on rear of processor box to USB on PS4

PSVR HMD connected to Front of Processor Box like normal.

HDMI out on PS4 is connected directly to an HDMI in on my TV.

After all the connections are made I power on the PS4, DS4 and then the PSVR and my PSVR then displays my PCs desktop in cinematic mode.

One thing to note is if the small cinematic screen form factor has been chosen during the last PS4 PSVR session, the displayed content will be in that form factor and be locked to your view and follow your head movement. In this small screen mode there is no centering needed as it is locked and centered to your view but it feels weird and IMHO is too small. I use the Medium setting.

It will definitely be a lot easier when the iVRy DEV adds the standalone utility allowing cinematic mode. He should be including a centering function like the one he has for the SteamVR driver which uses the PSVR volume buttons.
