xbox controller not working but is detected via steam?

why is the controller support not working? tried everything,still nowt.

Controller support is up to the title and not the headset driver. You can see whether a title supports gamepads from its Steam store page.

its a little more complicated than what the dev suggests actually: Steam itself can override native xbox controller in a game, which means your game MAY have native xbox controller support but the controller doesnt work in the game. Yes this is as annoying as it sounds. In Steam, Right click on a game and look for controller options. There you will see options to enable or disable "generic xbox controller support." There is also global option in Steam settings regarding controllers. For VR games I had to force xbox controller emulation on in Steam for those games before my standard XBOX controller would work. You likely need to do the same.

i tried force on still nowt,,ill keep trying,if not its getting thrown out the window,and ill feel better,and buy a vive,,,i just thought its been a couple of years now since psvr been out and someone will have modded it to work with pc,,,beside i got this thing on a sale yesterday,,,i miss my oculus,i should have got that instead,but thanks for the replys anyways,,,if someone could put up a write up (sticky) on how todo it that would be great,,,im following instructions but something is going wrong,mind you im watching a 2017 youtube vid? and that guy is using trunis vr software,
