Reached e300, now what?
I would really appreciate any tips on how to progress towards e400. I just unlocked t2 classes, but I havent been able to figure out which one and what build to go for. All the guides on the wiki require you to have fully legendary gear with bunch of enchants.

Since this is my first playthrough, my crafting dust income allow me to get like 1 maybe 2 items to legendary per week. Assuming most builds need a buildup set and a burst set (like 20 items total), that would take at least two or three months.

Is there any t2 build someone can recommend that doesnt require so much item investment? I was considering Temporalist, since the Temporal Stabilizer weapon seems to be the only "hard" requirement to have legendary.

I'd say that archon might be the best choice to pursue: it requires less equipment than most classes, and much of what it does require tends to be generally useful, with very little that's specific to archon.

Archon is my personal favorite as well. To set expectations every T2 class is designed to scale more so short 1hr runs don't do as well. My standard archon run is 24-48hrs.

The guides "assume" fully legendary gear but very few "require" that. Typically the approriate weapon at legendary is the biggest part (not the case with Archon IMO Thunderbird is meh).

Archon's gear requirement isn't small it uses 3 sets (not all complete but still) it needs a Pet/Character level set a VM set and a burst set but not having them all at legendary doesn't fundamentally break the build.

Another note is T2 classes get a unique upgrade at e725mana which can make a substantial difference. In the case of Archon its an additional spell with a passive benefit and provides the method for building "Shards collected" for half of the Archon's class power.

If you run Archon pre-e725 you should spend an hour or so in Abolisher running Silence to stack shards collected before changing to Archon

I also got to e300 recently and have been unlocking the Tier 2 classes. I've found however that I can still make the fastest progress with Necromancer, as I can advance by e2-3 mysteries (eg. e310 to e312) in a day or so.
As someone who doesn't have time to play active, or leave the game running, this has continued to be most effective for me.

But thanks for this helpful answer as I was wondering to what extent bonus categories were maintained when switching from T1 to T2 class, as the time bonus for Temporalist seemed fairly similar no matter how much time you skipped as Chronomancer. (From what I can see I shouldn't be trying Temporlaist until I can easily get lvl high enough to unlock its wormhole spell, currently 3 or 4 levels shy when I hit an exp brick wall).

Temporalist requires two things 1 Wormhole and 2 his weapon Wormhole stabilizer at legendary (he was the example in mind for requiring his weapon). His builds assume thousands of years skipped and without his weapon you skip minutes with his weapon at legendary you can skip a couple years at a time.

If you can't keep the game open you are going to have slow going in general. Almost every T2 class expects hours of either autoclicks or autocasts which you can't get offline.

I hit my first e400 on heretic. Got a few pieces to legendary by the end of it but no where near all the gear. Like literally 3-4 non-trophy items.
Only need three sets, burst, buildup and vm, though a pet-leveler can save time - mine was only a modification of the vm set.
I didn't follow 'meta' on the burst set, ran full justice set focused on click/autoclick and it got me there pretty steadily.
You just need to buildup your hc, ehc, ve, and ac as all four of those are your amplifier bases.
Build stupid amounts of vm and switch to interrogator for your buildup phase using radiance as your shard source and it just works.

IME, I have to say I like leaning into Shaman personally, since I had used Necro from around the e200 to e300, most of the gear I had invested in was able to transfer right over.

Archon is another that I will admit isn't bad, I think I do pull faster profits with it than the Shaman, but either way, both are probably easier to get into for longer runs.
