The essential loop of Chronomancer is to rapidly build up skipped time using the Wormhole spell. Obviously needs compressed time, so use Singularity Beam to feed Wormhole. That's your basic "time machine" loop that most players figure out on their own already, so I'm going to guess you got that far already.
Once you've racked up a good amount of skipped time, you'll want to max out your time distortion to 10x or 12x depending on what your limit is. While you're casting your time distortion spell to speed up game time, it's a good point to also use Void Radiance to build up void mana.
Finally, the essential spell that makes Chronomancer able to profit at all, Stabilize The Flow. This is by far the biggest thing that makes or breaks Chronomancer. It's essential to build up to 10x or 12x distortion, and then immediately switch to a spell preset that autocasts Singularity Beam, Stabilize The Flow, and your four next best incantations.
The combination of being able to rack up voidmana at 10x normal speed, getting a massive incantation boost from Stabilize The Flow, the very high base power of Singularity Beam, and the faster-than-linear scaling of profits with skipped time should amount to a substantial increase in mysteries.
But the single biggest improvement would be to make sure you're setting up spell and equipment sets for each phase of your exile: buildup, void mana, burst, and potentially separate sets for pet exp or splitting buildup into incantation vs summon casting. (been a while since I touched base Chrono, so I forget exactly what phases it uses)
There is also the wiki with all its class-specific guides. (the link to the actual wiki is in the help menu in game. the community left Fandom a few months ago, so that wiki will be fairly significantly out of date)
So...it's confirmed. They can't advance at this point.
Weird. I should explain I just had a grand run as an arcanist...supposed a lower tier wizard.
But very well. I shant cry. Any advice on umbramancers?
That said, thankfully, Umbramancer is by far one of the easiest classes to play. Liquid Shadow effectively functions like void mana. You collect shadow clots, or use Day Into Night to build up Liquid Shadow, and your profits are a product of your total Liquid Shadow Spent, and current Liquid Shadow owned. So the only "difficult" part of it is trying to maintain a balance where you want to spend roughly half of your Liquid Shadow for optimal profits.
The thing that makes Umbramancer such an easy class to play is that both evocation and autoclick bonuses increase your profit. Almost all other classes will benefit only from either autoclick or evocation efficiency. Umbramancer's main spell, Seethe In Shadows, is affected by evocation bonus, autoclick bonus, and Liquid Shadow owned.
The main loop can be done in three fairly simple steps. Autocast Day Into Night with Onyx Hound and your Spellhound pet to build up Liquid Shadow, switch to Ebonsand Behemoth if you have it, or Arcanaworg if you don't, and level it as high as you have the patience for. Finally, use Seethe In Shadows, Umbral Rage, Eclipse and your other incantations to simultaneously spend Liquid Shadow and earn mana.
Also archivist will let you skip time much faster imo.
