Question about the big snowflake.

When the Christmas stuff appeared (thanks, devs, for the gifts; I got enough Alteration Sand to finish my saving for the Hidden Grove background), along with the tree, a large snowflake appeared. The snowflake is about as large as a bat, it does nothing when I click on it, seems to block clicks from whatever is behind it, and it moves occasionally, always close to the central region, so far. The bat hunter does not wake up to chase it. Is it supposed to do anything?

Similar question about the pine cone hanging below my character level, it looks purely decorative, clicks do nothing. Is it supposed to do anything.

I had to restart my game. Then I was able to collect the snowflakes. You can collect them and spend them. Look for the grey up arrow on the bottom right of the tree.

There should be an update available. Get that installed and you should be able to collect them.

You need to update, yes, for the snowflake. The pinecone is a decoration.

I updated, then restarted again twice and still i don't seem to be getting snowflakes after a few hours. How are they obtained? Should they just be showing up periodically? because for me they are not.

I had a 'bat' snowflake fly across while the static one was present, the bat eater got it; I guess the static one is just a graphic artifact, but I will try a restart and see if it clears up.

I updated and was able to click on the big snowflake.

i've updated and restarted 4 times now and there is no big snowflake to click

For me the 1st snowflake appeared at the same time as the tree. It had the number 55 with it. After that they appear to be spawning approximately every hour. If they are using the same spawn rate as previous events then it is probably every 48-72 minutes. Rather than having multiple flakes on screen, if one is already there then new spawns just add 1 to the number.

Currently playing as Archon and if the snowflake appears in the middle of the orb then it is quite hard to see.

i updated as soon as the update released, i've tried restarting 4 times. it's been several hours. i have had 0 snowflakes appear anywhere on the screen, not on the orb, not on my portrait, not anywhere

I had the same issue, until I quit out of the game and found a second update waiting. After that one, I've started getting snowflakes. If you got the earlier update but have managed to miss the second one, that could explain it?

there is no other update waiting. i've stopped the app and checked 4 times

After stopping Idle Wizard, rebooting because I had a Windows update, downloading the (2nd?) Idle Wizard Christmas patch (took a while) and restarting Idle Wizard, I can now click the static snowflakes and harvest them. Kind of wish I had done it sooner, but it's all good. Got 9 spendable snowflakes on the first harvested flake.

Also now have the up arrow at the base of the tree that shows the rewards:

2K blue dust, 20 snowflakes
(1?) Alteration Sand, 40 snowflakes
1 Trial Rune, 60 snowflakes
12 Time Warp, 200 snowflakes
1 Relic, 250 snowflakes

After restarting, the bats are bats again, not snowflakes.

6th restart , still no static snowflakes exist for me after many hours and many attempts. game is fully updated according to steam

To update the game for certain you need to right click on the title in the library, go to "local files" and select "verify integrity" there. Just restarting the game doesn't specifically prompt Steam for updates sadly. If you already did, I can only recommend DMing Exser on Discord - maybe your save is corrupted somehow.
