Unlocking Archivist

I've tried googling but didn't find any satisfatory results.

What's the best approach ?

Obviously I can max out pet level with Demonologist, but I fall short in the spell department, since he doesn't have many low duration/cooldown spells.

I can use Void/arcanist for high spell count but increasing pet level is a slog.

Any thoughts ?

You can sit on Demono with a Worg and spam Focus and other stuff. Ideally, Spell Focus will give up something short of 60 casts per second (will be less, sure, but ideally) - that's 100k/60, which is 1.66(6), roughly half an hour of stacking. Even twice as long/slow is an hour, which isn't a tremendous amount to wait out.

Can also just wait until later to unlock with an Arcanist through JMS, which yields a ton of casts, just invest into Empathy and gather up some items to get enough xp.

If you're below e70 (where Empathy is unlocked, and maybe even e80 where items do) - don't bother too much with immediately unlocking all t2 pets. It takes a long time to reach on most classes. Unlock Worg, Pit lord. You'll get instruments to unlock everything way more easily through attributes and items later.

Should have probably lead with that...I'm e116. I'll try Arcanist, but I fear getting pet exp will be a pain.

ur welcome :)
At e116 you should be fine, you should be aiming to use T2 pets on any class by now. Use whatever Falconer items you have, and always do at least 75 Empathy.

Yeah, should have just went for it, instead of wasting people time. 22min, spells done and pet is 93 zzz >.<

To be honest regarding items, I'm a bit short. I think I went super fast on mysteries and thus I'm falling behind on some of the other stuff. Like I'm 4d20h total real play time only lol.

Shot in the dark : do you have any information you think would be relevant for me ? The wiki and kongregate discussions are often informative but many informations are outdated.

You should be short on items, making all items and upgrading is a long task. You'll continue it way further into the game.
Not sure what you by relevant ^^ if you're progressing - you're fine, there's little to do wrong, worst case you'll just spend more time. Naturally, you don't want to play druid or something by this point in time, but between like Prodigy, Arca, Exo, Chrono in this range you have a variety of ways to go about that are all p good. Do challenges, craft all items (don't upgrade, or at most, upgrade to Uncommon), do Innovation until you Leg all Research, do Expeditions to Leg Trophies and accumulate Catas. Spread Catas equally, never focus.
If you need help/guidance/hints - join the discord :) all the top players, us, wiki contributors, testers and more are all there. Kongregate is discontinued and outdated by now, yes.

That's a trove of information already ! especially the innovation and catalyst/expedition part. I always forget to do them and end up watching dumb cat video on youtube.
