Arcanaworg or Challenge Bugged? (Lean Mean Shard Machine III)

Hey, I am trying to complete the challenge "Lean Mean Shard Machine III" and it says within 1 hour I must collect 165.00M Spell Shards...

The reason I am asking if there is a bug is the following. I currently have the pet at level 98 and the following is stated in the tooltip:

Charge Time: 6 seconds
On Activation Yields 1.00M Spell Shards each second for 10.00 seconds.

This trigger has gone off plenty but the challenge meter is barely going up, with the math of that ability I should be finished with that 165.00M spell shards within roughly 5 minutes if it generations 10M shards every 16 seconds roughly (10 second activation + 6 second recharge)... However it doesn't seem to reflect that amount of generation in the challenge so I am curious if the pet is bugged.. or if the challenge is?

I'm assuming its the same as how the Arcanist/Abolisher works you only get credit from Shards that go to charging a spell. If all your spells are maxed you don't actually "earn" shards.

yeah the game doesnt really go into to much detail on passive vs pool vs max
I wish there was a sub text in the stats or such to show you all of these things
it does show shards earned but not by what means or how

and no..so far no challenge is bugged.. its quite easy depending on your gear and lvl
you can do it in about 10 min or less

That's wrong, currently the Exam III series is bugged.

show me how exams are bugged when i beat them all simply

i suggest showing proof other than a statement that the whole series are bugged

how so?
and if so how did i do them easily?

Thanks for the feedback guys, with the information on the fact it requires to go towards charging a spell and not when maxed out fixed my issue and allowed me to complete it :)

It's true that exam III and maybe IV are bugged for some people. Any evocation (I think) spell that is cast causes the game to crash. Happened to me and a lot of other people. It can still be done as long as you only cast spells with a timer.
Dunno what kind of proof you are looking for.

how are they bugged?
i mean exam IV is insane hard the hardest one out of 100 but.. the proof i mean is what you think is wrong, a crash? thats not a bug, I thought u meant the exam wasnt possible hence bugged.

what are the symptoms other than that crash ive not heard of that but..
