I'm guessing using the Hound/Warg doesn't count toward your collection?

Yes and no. Yes, you can use Hound/Warg to generate shards. However, shards only count as "earned" when they're actively filling up a spell. So Hound will only generate its large number of shards once every couple seconds, and only as many shards as will fully charge up the spells on your spellbar which are not yet full.

It's better to use arcanist with Spellstaff, an autoclick source or two, and some instant or short duration spells to burn off shards as quickly as possible.

It forces you to use Arcanist, so I have been. I've also been using autoclick sources and instant duration spells. I've even maxed out my Spellcraft spell. I don't really know what else to do.

No, I'm doing the third one.

For the third one you need to use missile storm to burn up the shards fast enough, magic missile won't cut it. At least that's what I had to do after failing twice.

Good idea. I didn't realize it wanted shards that directly apply to a spell rather than any shards gained from any source.

No, you don't need Devourer.
You want to use zombie or pixie to generate more shards, if you spam JMS.
If you can reach Arcane Infusion, you want to use worg.

not at all...devourer is still the best even whit arcane infusion...if you put enought in wisdom whit manabest plus greater elemental plus spell give shard per click...you get shard fast enought for arcane infusion

Using devourer is pointless if you can reach AI.
At 250 wisdom + manabeast, you're at 20k shards per second, so devourer eats 60k shards per second max.
6 casts of AI is 2 millions shards.

Even if you only use JMS, I'm not convinced devourer have a meaningful impact on your shards production.

But eh, if you think devourer is 'best', get under the bar of 25s with him :B
