Honestly the game is very bad.
Fortunatly I didn not buy the game since a friend own it on PS4 and I got to play it yesterday.

The idea was cool but the game was made badly, first of all they got so lazy with character design (most of the outfits are from outfit piece the characters of OPM have), the combat is pretty horrible and the combos are pretty not good.

Let me explain (spoiler with combat system I guess): Standard style combo I mostly used: L L L L Heavy launcher L L L L L (L = Light attack, Heavy launcher = Up + heavy attack) and that's an easy combo for a bit of damage and you can do the Fang killer move wich cost 3 gauge and is a one hit in order to do a bit more damage, now when the opponent is down and you have 4 gauge you can do the killer move that is a 1 hit (a bit delayed) and cost 1 gauge, if the ennemy take it well they take it and you can repeat, if they block it you can just combo them since they are guard breaked or you can do the fang killer move (move forward a little bit tho). Overall it feels slow and generic.

What I think they should have done is make the game like Yakuza/Kiwami did, you can eat at restaurants, play mini games, fight people on the streets (yes ennemy attack you at some point in the story I know and yes you can fight character by talking to them for a quest), can switch style in battle, fight multiple ennemies at once, etc etc etc.

I understand that they probably focused on the Versus part but even that is bad, it's just like Jump force but with OPM universe, and damn there is so many loading screen (maybe it's just a PS4 thing but I doubt it), you take a quest from the hero association = Loading screen, you win = Loading screen, then you repeat. Yakuza/Kiwami did that without having loading screens being boring (when thugs attack you the music starts and it tells you who attack you and everyone is getting ready to fight and BAM you fight, then when you win you see the results and you are good to go no loading screen for 3-10 secondes.

They could have done so much with this game and they decided to be lazy, and don't get me started on the DLC......... (yes most fighting games do that nowadays). Now that I think about it this game is like DBZ budokai but slower and less good.

Very bad? no. Alright? yes. Not worth the asking price but not nearly as bad as all that. It's lacking in several areas but it's a much more solid effort compared to KLK, MHA, and Jump Force. Hopefully they actually support this game and update it to address some of the complaints but considering they spent next to nothing to develop it I can't see it happening.

For me being better than Jump force and the game you said doesn't mean it's an OK game.

If they have spent next to nothing to devellop this game and they have been lazy then how is it not a bad game ? Honestly Yakuza/Kiwami is not a serie that spend a huge amount of money (last time I've checked) but they do put some work into it when it comes to gameplay.

Imagine if in the solo mode you could do bowling against Genos or Saitama, fish with Bang, play hide and seek with Puri puri prisonner, or heck have a mini game with little car toys but instead it's mini Mumen rider's you can customize and make them race. Devs just got lazy and that's sad.

What's worse is that Mega man zero collection wich cost 30$ and have 6 games (7 games if you count Z chaser) have mixed ratings too. (well MMZC is a PC port of the MMZ wich was on GBA and MMZX wich was on DS but that's 6 games for 30$).

They should have just focused on making this an Arena Fighter RPG with single player because the gimmicks fit then. In a competitive fighter it's just annoying and gets in the way. The idea of making it competitive or even focusing any development on that concept is a waste of funds since Spike Chunsoft can't develop competitive fighters for the life of them.

They do come up with good ideas for a single player Arena Fighter RPG, though, as waiting for people to show up and save you works in that setting. The story mode functioned pretty well for it since that's pretty much what the IP is all about where you're just waiting for someone bigger and better to save the day. You even get to be that guy for some characters in the story which is nice.

Overall I think Bamco would have been better suited giving this to DIMPS or at least gave the game the same treatment they gave Xenoverse in that they actually waited for that one to be finished. I have no idea how Spike Chunsoft operates, but apparently Bamco has no faith in them which leads to my confusion to why they gave them another IP to ♥♥♥♥ with.

The oki options are so 1 sided. That is probably the biggest issue. Same as in Burning Blood.
