I want to buy this. I have no VR headset.
I'm trying to 100% all Borderlands Games. This, unfortunately, is one of the entries. I wanted to know if it's still possible to play this without a VR headset by using a computer monitor and controller through any means, conventional or unconventional.

I heard that it -might- be possible through the SteamVR Mirror and controller, if anyone owns the game and could test it out for me, I'd be very, very grateful.

Any responses will be greatly appreciated!

Is it "possible" to play without VR?
Possibly.

The only motion controls are used for aiming and there are 3rd party apps for both facebook and Steam that allow for gamepad emulation.

There are a bunch of ways to "fool" steam VR into thinking you are wearing an HMD, and you can choose to have steam VR display the VR view on your monitor.

So yeah technically you could probably make it function.... but it would look weird and you'd have terrible FOV and everything would be cumbersome and whack.... so I wouldn't recommend it. You definitely wouldn't enjoy it as much as simply playing the pancake version.

It is really great in VR.... A better option might be to ask Santa for some cheap VR gear this year..... unless you have been naughty. lol

Good luck and Merry Christmas.

you said any responses appreciated.

So here goes.

WHY?!?!

100% all borderlands games? Whats the point? If you've done Flat Borderlands 2, you've done this one. If you're standing before whatever you worship when your dead and it's pointing at you laughing that you completed Borderlands 2 100% but not Borderlands 2 VR 100%. You worshipped the wrong entity. But maybe not. Because I'd imagine it's wroth laughing at.. because it probably realizes that's why you're clenching your buttcheeks.

what Mr Eos said. its literally the same game as regular Borderlands 2 except no coop (EFFING WHY GEARBOX??), if you don't have a VR headset you can't play this one, because there isnt any reason to.
Now that being said: I still don't see why they didnt just roll this out as a DLC for Borderlands 2, it worked for Payday 2 (free update), and No Mans Sky (also a free update), Both of those games also has VR to Flat crossplay.
So this just feels like a cashgrab to fund (hopefully) more Borderlands.
Atleast the DLCs are free here

to add to this for the op, a quest 3s is like 300 dollars new, and you dont need any hardware setup to get it working, it wont look the best but its still an option.

if a quest 3 was only 300 dollars in my country I would have upgraded my Oculus Rift. sadly its still hovering about twice as much if not more.
just buy borderlands 2. same game just not vr.
