Yeah, don't expect even remotely anything similar or any of the fun in this dlc...
I did not like a lot of things. Most things, actually.
Winning auctions by answering trivia questions about the game itself.
Renting the stands and trying to find the customer, cause you have to navigate around them, instead of being able to see them all like in your shop.
Stepping on one of those springy things and getting tossed into some shrubbery where I couldn't see where I was cause, well, I was buried in shrubbery.
I can't fit all the items I collected in a day, so I have to smash them somehow, or get fined for having too much. I couldn't get the machine to work anyway. Put stuff in, hit the button, sounded loud and impressive, but when it opened the stuff was still there.
I'm supposed to craft items now? What happened to finding them in barns, which we all probably assumed would be the case, what with it being the name of the game and all.
None of it makes any sense.
Well, that's my review. Really enjoyed the game itself. This not so much.
I do enjoy having the different locations, with different preferred content, and different quantity based on time of day. I was delighted the first time I won an auction that reaped 70 items in five containers.
The scavenger hunt for posters was challenging, the last one took me hours to locate after double checking every area. naturally it was in the last place I looked. The mini-puzzle with the merry go round and port-a-potties were unique and fun
With the original game; I played two or three times via resetting profiles. thankfully I left one profile with 80K to start the DLC. each container opening has good diversity of random content, Just as the in game tutorial states more content when opened later in the day, I am starting a new profile to see if the new DLC can expedite making money for the main game tools and purchases.
Good job on the DLC.!!!!!
great deviation from the original format while maintaining the feel.
my only question is: Do you have a framework to bring us more new content quicker?
on the negative side, I am having launching issues. The card board cutouts take a bit getting used to, the lack of hints on the new trigger spot like opening the present to start the DLC should have been caught by a play tester that had no prior knowledge of the new content. it took me an hour to locate..... I did not understand the tutorial on where to find bounties and the computer until my tenth action. I kept walking past the computer thinking it would activate later since it does not light up until you get close and wait....
other negatives and positives can be added, but overall I enjoy your choices your team made with this DLC and hope you continue to make good content choices moving forward.
I think this is great feedback from someone who has sunk more time into the DLC. Granted, I have not put that much time into it, but the time I did spend made it feel like a spin-off more than an extension, it's also a little confusing. I believe the DLC needs to make the new features/mechanics clearer, the current tutorials don't cut it in my opinion.
It really feels like this was some kind of spin off based on the original rather then something that furthers and enhances the base. Definitely disappointed.
