Why no Mac Version since it Already Exists

I'm curious why not release the mac version on Steam since it already exists on Mac App store?

because it is exclusive to the mac app store. it is the same with "Beyond a Steel Sky" apple did spend money for the development but the price is the exclisivity to the app store

Is it really exclusive? Many Apple Arcade games do come to Steam also. But you are right I've seen a few devs skip putting the Mac version on Steam and they usually just say something that it isnt that easy and they are looking into it.

Apple usually have time-limited MAS exclusivity contracts with some devs, if they're not completely exclusive

Oh that would make sense. Not that I doubt you but do you have anything to show to back this up? I have never seen or heard anything about that. Sure I've seen Apple Arcade games being exclusive for a time. But now that Last Campfire is out on Steam shouldn't the mac version be free to be released also here?

Please consider adding the Mac version at some point on Steam, it's going to be an insta-buy for me - and hopefully for many others!

If your on M1 mac (2020 macbook pro) and already own the game on steam, you can run it through parallels (virtual machine software that emulates Windows). Seems to run well, but has really long loading times and you'll have to run it at 720p in order to hit 60fps. If you're using one of the newer macs you could probably run it at a higher resolution but doesn't look too bad at 720p.
