METAL EDEN

METAL EDEN

They delay is harsh
Every input, from movement, to core rips and melee, to swapping and firing guns seems to be suffering from input delay. The thing that makes a game like this amazing is the input flow and game play "rhythm". I hate to compare to the likes of Doom Eternal, but it is the perfect example of what I am talking amount. Yes, the flow of combat and world interaction is a bit different, but the similarities are very noticeable, and it makes the moments of action delay in this feel very noticeable. I'm not looking for or expecting reload cancels and fast swaps, but when I hit the punch button because an enemy just mantled up in front of me, and the character stands there still shooting because I didn't release the trigger, or does nothing because I'm still in the middle of the recoil animation for the pistol, it feels like a death unearned.
It feels like every action in the game has to be it's own, separate action, and that action has to complete itself, before I can start up a new, different action at times. The flow and input connection needs some kind of improvement as soon as possible. Its the only thing really getting in the way of me enjoying the game, and just leaves me frustrated, especially after dying in a corner for the 5th time trapped by body pins I couldn't do anything about because the character and game animations just can't keep up with inputs, rather than being able to fight my way free and keep playing.

Yeap, I think I felt it similar way. I doesn't spoil the game for me, but is a bit irritating sometimes.
For what it's worth, I haven't noticed any delay in the gameplay at all so it might be something specific to your hardware. (The action interrupt thing is an issue though) I played Doom Eternal quite a bit, and this is pretty much the same level of responsiveness. There is a VERY noticeable delay in the main menu, but it goes away as soon as the actual map loads. Weird. I'm on a 4080 laptop with Ubuntu (which should harm the performance if anything).
