Same universe as Ruiner?

The Supra pistol and the Hanza industrial stuff come straight from there, and the visual language of the armor and the robots is very similar to what was back there. Is it just a cheeky reference, or do the games share a universe?

It is screaming shared universe. We had "HEAVEN" in Ruiner, and now "EDEN" in Metal Eden. Heaven and Eden are connected words. That and the simple featuring of shared icons and all the other obvious references, yeah. The art-style and design of the armour also complements that theory.
