15 fps with a 4080 super
Hi. After maybe a year ago I wanted to pickup playing this game again. 15 FPS... 100% gpu load. With dlss barely 30 fps.. All other games I tested play smooth on maxed out settings. CPU Ryzen 7 7800X3D. 32gb. Restarting this pc doesn't help. Like I said, other newer games play totaly fine, I don't get it. Any idea's? Even the starting screen of the game I get very low fps.

I had mega lags as well when I started playing the game, and it all smoothed out after like 2-3 sessions.
I noticed that if you load the game from a small place (like the secret room in Hogwarts), the game tends to lag a lot less.
Also alt tabbing seems to ♥♥♥♥ the game up pretty hard.

Never had any lag, and that`s with a way worse rig. Sorry.

This is definitely what is happening. They have to go into their graphics control panel and tell it to always use the GPU.
Stupid Question #14 - Do you have the latest drivers for your graphics card or are you using the drivers that came with winbloze?
I also have a 4080 super, for the first 2 weeks of owning the game I couldn't even boot it up, it would crash while loading shaders. After updating BIOS I am getting 200+ fps with max settings on 1440. First I would check graphics card drivers, then I would verify the integrity of the game in Steam, finally if none of that works, update BIOS.
Go into your control panel device manager and then under display adaptors right click AMD Radeon Graphics and click disable.

I disabled it like Porcus said.

No result. Same low fps.

What I notice is that before loading the shaders, is see 75 and along the way it drops to below 30 when done loading shaders. I will try every step.

I disabled iGPU, 4080 shows in the game and is greyed out, probably because I cant choose an other GPU now.

Complete reinstall of the game. Bios updated. All drivers (already) up to date. 31 fps with dlss on, even lower on native. Disabled iGpu. My 3070ti laptop GPU runs an even higher fps..... Funny part, all other games i run play fine...
You are missing something important. If the game works for everyone else, but not for you...it kind of seems like there is an answer you could investigate.

I guess you are missing something important. He is investigating already, partly by being here and trying to find answers. To which you are not helping at all, so that snarky remark was a waste of time and space.

So what is it that I could investigate? I mean, everything is working except for this game. That's why I don't understand it. Or are you suggesting I am playing a Pirated version? Also not the case. Legit windows etc. It's unclear to me, that's why i'm asking. Maybe someone has a very simple answer, which I can test. I did the testing with previous answers, but no positive result.
