Can confirm this worked in my case. Thank you.
Switching off the antivirus allowed me to download, install, and launch the game with no issues.
Once I switch the antivirus back on, launching the game immediately causes it to crash to desktop.
So the current solution for my case is to add the game files as exception in the antivirus.
Not sure what in the game files is silently triggering the antivirus (no notifications/ pop ups), but hope this gets fixed.
I think you need to disable every time the game loads else the shaders loading crashes the game for what I assume is the same issue that causes the disk write error, then breaks something causing the same issue all over again. Same issue happens in Lies of P which uses the same shader load at launch thing (unreal engine thing vs avast issue)
