Weird Issue with stuttering when casting spells
I have this weird issue that just started today when casting spells. Every time i cast anything, it lags, like it's having trouble loading the particles or something. I've tried everything on lowest, i've tried removing mods, pretty much everything i can think of.

I'm having this same issue. I've tried everything I can think of. Even uninstalled and reinstalled, redid drivers, turned everything to low, turned off all the extra goodies...it's a split second screen freeze on ANY cast, even basic wand work. Very frustrating!

Do you have mods? i think they way i fixed it was doing a fresh install, no mods, no nothing, deleting all the folders pertaining to it, just a clean wipe.

I don't have any mods, but I'll try that in the morning and hopefully get to play again. Thanks!

Uninstalled and found every folder and file on the pc and deleted everything. Reinstalled and it's still doing it. So frustrating.

This is the issue that I’m having as well. Game stutters or freezes for a split second whenever I cast a spell.

Edit* If you’ve got an Nvidia GPU like I have, I updated my drivers to the latest available and the issue has resolved.

I started experiencing this as well recently, if anyone finds a solution to this I would like to know!

While it's not a gurantee to help, but if some graphic file got corrupted, the game will halt while trying to read it.

File corruption can happen fairly easily.

The solution if that's the case is to verify file integrity; if you get this sort of error, always do that first. It really is the single most common source of errors. That doesn't mean that's what it is, but it's a good precatution to start with.

in steam, right click the game, properties, installed files, verify files are installed correctly (it used to be called verify file integrity)

Resurrecting the thread a little, So after having had this exact issue, and looking absolutely everywhere (and not finding an answer) it was finally fixed by turning off RGB peripherals under the gameplay options tab.
posting here for anyone else who have had a right awful time trying to find this out, and hoping that it will help the same issues you're having.

Funny that I deleted the Profiles and the plugin that it uses, No stutter

I never realised that could cause lag issues. Turning that off solved everything
