Toggle Off Protego?

Is there a way to toggle off Protego after it's cast and not used? I'm running around castle with blue sphere around me going off and on kind of annoying. Do I need to log in and out every time I hit that key by mistake to get the blinking around me to stop?

What difficulty are you playing on as on hard it just goes off when you release the button, or if its held too long.

this bug occurs when you pick the talent that allows you to heal after killing a cursed enemy. Never pick that talent or protego will bug out

i'm playing on normal. I just log out and back in and it's gone. Kind of annoying if I press the button by mistake.

I don't even think this spell works, I just battled the troll in the village at the beginning and cast it and it did not protect me from any of the attacks just flashes now I have to reboot game to get it to stop.

Is the bug PC specific? I have the heal talent and never had that happen on my Switch.

probably yes, in this last playthough i never got this talent and protego didn't flicker like the bug mentioned here

I picked that talent on both my playthroughs, never had that issue.

This bug also applies to the NPCs too I just helped the lady with the first Merlin trial and after battle she glitched and still has the sphere force field flashing around her too. They need to fix this. I don't even use this spell anymore if I can avoid it, but now NPCs who battle with me bug out with it.
