1. Remove all mods that might be outdated because of the latest update.
2. Open your Game Library on Steam
Right-click on your game
Select Properties from the menu
In the Properties menu, select 'Installed Files' from the left-hand panel
On the Installed Files page, select 'Verify integrity of game files'
if youre lucky some files were corrupted after the update and steam will repair them this way
3. if above 2 steps did not work you could try to delete the shadercache files within C:\ProgramData\Hogwarts Legacy
ofc ensuring your graphics driver is up to date, and no overlays/monitoring software are hooked into the game could help. gl
It is so weird that I tried to do that, but it crashes everytime.
Surprisingly, the game is on UE4, not UE5, so it technically should be more optimized, but.
I have an undervolted 7900XTX Nitro+ that clocks super high, and the game still drops frames here and there at 4k Ultra. And if you wanna talk raytracing, it looks pretty bad in most cases, yet you lose more than half your frames. Probably better on nVidia, but it's 100 percent not worth the cost.
i bought it today as well; however, i could not launch the game it keeps saying startup error.
Roll back to the summer 2024 version and the game should work fine for you. There is a guide on nexus mods and Google.
New purchase, un-modded, crashing on startup.
It sounds like you're saying the summer 2024 version ran fine on the 1080, not the current version?
Definitely advise rolling back to it and trying again, game was perfectly playable for me back then.
