How is this antisemitic BS not getting way more hate in discussions?
Are the developers deleting topics that call out this BS plot? Or do people really not care about the blatant and obvious antisemitism on display?

Wow. just pathetic... Some people just have make a big deal over literally everything. Can't wait for this topic to be locked as it should be...
There isn't any antisemitism whatsover.
The goblins are just fantasy creatures, and that's it.

What part of my profile is "virtue signalling"? Explain.
Pal, you're a walking, quintessential meme. You're that gluttonous cultural cliché that asks for miles if given an inch, and one that we all hope would just collectively come out of the closet (no pun intended) and declare that this was all just one, big, elaborate troll.
Okay elaborate. What mile am I trying to take?

Ready to have your mind blown? A thing can be fake and problematic at the same time!

Oh no! A defender of antisemitic tropes thinks I'm pathetic! Oh no!
I hope you stretched before that reach.

Now that's one way to put your entitlement on full display, attempting to cancel a game based on vague interpretations of a literary trope even after they've gone out of their way to be more inclusive, your lot is never satisfied. Here[momentmag.com]:
This line of reasoning seems compelling, but to foist it on Rowling and the Potter series seems unjust.  For one, Rowling does a great deal of borrowing in her stories.  She followed established conventions, endowing her dragons with fiery breath and wings, giving her trolls dim wit and powerful clubs, and her goblins with short stature, hooked noses, and greedy manipulation—archetypes that existed well before Rowling ever put pen to paper.  Perhaps Rowling drew her goblin based on the goblins in the Nineteenth Century poem “Goblin Market,” in which goblins lure and trick with “evil gifts.”  Or consider JRR Tolkein’s goblin—“A foul creature…slightly smaller, sometimes hunched over or appearing to walk and run with limps.”  Or just look up goblin in the dictionary and you find a definition that largely resembles Rowling’s creatures.  Perhaps the goblin character has its origins in anti-Semitism, but Rowling can hardly be convicted of unjust commentary for using a now-familiar Western literary character.

Additionally, the debate over whether the goblin character has its roots in antisemitism is wholly unaligned with Rowling’s professed views on Jews. In 2004, Rowling visited a Holocaust Museum and compared the hated “mudblood” and “half-blood” terms used in Harry Potter with the antisemitic propaganda of the Nazis: “If you think this is far-fetched, look at some of the real charts the Nazis used to show what constituted Aryan or Jewish blood.”  Rowling has also gone on record saying that her evil character—Lord Voldemort—is modeled in part off of Hitler.  Both comments won her comments of praise from Jewish organizations.

From a Jewish author, FYI. And this was in, like, less than a minute of googling. So there you go, no one - not even the supposedly offended party - has any intention to die on this hill. From the looks of it, you're probably just trying to grasp at every straw you could find to use as a cudgel against JKR to stir discontent within the fandom and indoctrinate people into your cult before the mask comes off, after the boards collectively told you off following the "commentary on trans women" meltdowns.

Imagine getting offended over something that isn't real xD

Daniel Tosh once made fun of his own audience in his stand up special about someone potentially getting offended because he made a joke about wanting to do a baby.
Just shows you have nothing better to do with your life if you have to reach so far to get offended at something made up.

People are seeing FANTASY goblins and immediately connecting them to Jewish minorities in their mind, then they're trying to claim the devs or JKR is the racist.

Its basically the same Twittards who look at Orcs in LOTR, somehow see African-Americans, and then claim LOTR is racist, despite them being the racists.

Thank you! I just did some research as well and found a reddit post talking about that too:

"Goblins in HP are based on the goblins of European folklore, which are magical beings not that dissimilar to the Aos Si/Sith (aka traditional "fairies" in Irish and Scottish mythology). Traditional depictions of goblins range from the Post-Christian, more savage goblins as popularised by Tolkien, to beings like hobgoblins and brownies that were actually considered helpful, kind of like House-Elves really. In the middle you had "neutral" depictions of goblins that were much more Aos Si like -- that is to say, a race of magical "Others" who were overall neutral but could really mess with you if they wanted to.

Goblins in HP have a flavour of the latter most strongly -- but they also have similar traits to dwarves in Germanic/Scandinavian mythology. Particularly the interest in treasure, mining, craftsmanship etc.

People thought the HP goblins were Antisemitic because they saw these beings with long, crooked noses running a bank. That's literally it. They conveniently disregarded the fact these beings were also 3 feet tall, had huge ears, jagged sharp teeth and spider-like fingers. And were a literal mythological creature in real human traditions. It says more about them and their worldview than it does about the actual author/creation.

Basically, they are people who have no clue about mythology and just want to ♥♥♥♥ on things."
ok so are we gonna ignore the star of david on the floor of the bank and JK rowlings comments about them being completely fine to look like jewish people

Gringots was filmed in Australia House, which had a star on the floor. That's it, there's nothing to it. You're the one who's making these stupid connections that were never there.
And JKR never made such comments.

Not true. Otherwise they'd have pre-orders open and would already have my money.

Their view on the situation was also racist. Racism against your own ethnicity is very possible, especially if you're a weak-minded attention addict who subscribes to victim culture and is always on the lookout for the next offense.

Fun facts:
1) Tolkien described his Goblins/Orcs as "squat, broad, flat-nosed, sallow-skinned, with wide mouths and slant eyes: in fact degraded and repulsive versions of the (to Europeans) least lovely Mongol-types."
2) In the thirties, Tolkien refused a German translation of the Hobbit because the German publisher asked for a "bestätigung" of his "arisch abstammung" (a certificate of his aryan/non-jewish origin). The book was first translated into German in the fifties.
