Did get boring very fast
I'd say worth it though
To sum up how the game feels to play.
They spent all their resources and assets on building this amazing castle, sadly they did not have enough funds for the rest of the game that's why you run around doing filler side quests and collectibles, combat is an afterthought where you just spam attacks with no strategy or effort needed with a very small selection of spells which could be rivaled even by basic mobile games.
The story tries so hard and desperately to capture your attention but in the end it just feels rushed and incomplete, since all the funds were blown on castle building, they could not let you start as a first year, it just feels out of place to start as a fifth year which further disconnects you from an already lacking story.
There's so pathetically few monster types that was just quickly copy and pasted around the world to try and fill the game with content.
I think the first reply describes this game perfectly, as wide as an ocean and as deep as a puddle, whoever created the castle however does deserve praise, so if you think its worth paying 30 bucks for some eye candy, that's pretty much all this game has to offer.
Sometimes like in this case, you should listen to the complaints.
I'm sure the architects of the University of Oxford would be happy about that praise, alas, as it stands, posthumously.

Eh... I brought it and it took close to 2 hours to get pass all the dialog and cut-scenes. I had one fight with enemies so far.
Steam only gives you 2-3 hours to "try it".
Right now I'm still unsure if I should refund or keep. Based on the comments maybe I should jump ship.
It really doesn't get much better and I spent 14 hours on it. Only reason it's hyped imo is because it's set in Harry Potter
- story isn't anywhere near acceptable, with maximum cringe and minimal choice.
- swamped with repetitive grind, unintuitive navigation, UI/UX-infighting, disjointed obstacle-systems, heaps of exposition with little way to bring one's strengths to bear.
- the hallmark "beautiful and graceful elf" here is a seedy old goblin with cognitive quirks, his tutorial a ham-fisted authoritarian mess and contagiously depressive buzzkill.
- small variety of crafting/potions to excessively grind for, initially interesting, ultimately a disappointment (tedious, lack of automation, limited inventory, arbitrary caps, UI/UX-issues)
- combat and platforming dull and clunky, debatable puzzle mechanics, relying on wiki.
- unlocks are double-gated by fetch-quests, story-milestones and filler.
- somewhat immersive creature/breeding system, disjointed from the rest of the game and waylaid by said goblin
- small variety of vehicles, but the broom is just always faster to use, so what gives
- clothes and character customization feature, but the way to expand on this means doing side-quests and delaying the story which leads to wrestling with all the filler, for reference there are over 100 "Merlin" puzzles you could spam for up to 30 hours of minimal variety and microscopic rewards.
Who thought that in 2024 companies would deliver wholesome trailblazer products for their top-brands will be sorely disappointed: It's merely riding the coattails of the franchise's fandom, with no ambition to fit together. The product scores with level design eye-candy and occasional environmental effects, but the full experience is deeply dissatisfying, begging the question where the game is.
Maybe use someone else safe file then to get better experience?
