there's no trojan, ditch that malware you call anti virus

Antiviruses often have false positives, this game has been on Steam for way too long, has been played by millions of people and is published by a massive corporation with a reputation to uphold, why would they do something like that? Just add the file as an exception in your antivirus, or better yet replace your antivirus since I have to assume you aren't using Windows Defender or any other reliable AV.

Also just saying, libxess is Intel's alternative to FSR/DLSS. You might even be able to safely delete it if you aren't going to use it in-game.

I haven't found the need for third-party anti-viruses in quite some time but if you insist on using one then I believe ESET is still a great contender.

Run HL as a Standard User. It doesn't ask for elevated permissions. Without elevated permissions, there's very little it can do outside its own memory space. (Best to use Standard User when possible.)

Just use Windows Defender.
It's free and already party of windows. it's more than good enough and prevents you from having to install all these other third party versions.

Norton is Virus Software. Once you install any Norton Package, you can never fully removed it.

A nice honest reply for you: dump Norton. Don't use ANY anti-virus or anti-malware other than Windows Defender. That's the best protection you can buy, and it is totally free as long as you are running Windows.

Nowadays, paid protection packages are a waste of your money, and they conflict with Windows in many ways. They especially work AGAINST Windows Defender and cause problems that are totally unnecessary.

This applies to ANYONE using Norton or McAfee or any other 3rd party anti-virus/malware package on a Windows machine. Those packages destroy Windows performance and interfere with Windows Defender. If you don't want to believe me, do some research of your own: millions of happy users of Windows Defender. 100% problems for users of Norton and other protection packages.

Defender is all you need.

This is generally true. Removing Norton also tends to remove some elements of your Windows installation, which often causes poor performance even after removing the software.

Installing a 3rd party protection package is like voluntarily installing a FREE bundle of viruses that slow your computer down, cause infrequent crashes, and interfere with the REAL anti-virus that is built right into your Windows installation.

To remove such a package, you really need to manually remove Norton (or other 3rd party package) and then just totally reinstall Windows from the ground up by re-partitioning your C drive and reformatting it and completing a fresh new installation of Windows. Doing it this way will restore the normal performance of your computer and Windows.

And then you won't have Norton (or anybody else) quarantining your video games because of false positives :)

I have Bitdefender and used Norton 360 without issues before.
Only "false positive" i got was from cracks...
But yes W11 defender is enough.
