What a mess.
I've only seven mods installed; instant crash, no discussion.

After checking all my mods one by one, I found the culprit: the 'Face' mods seems to enter in conflict with the new update for no reason why.

Did you installed any mod recently ? There is no surprise at all that some of mod will contain malicious codes. Game mod easy target to spread malware for now. Create mod insert malicious codes and boom people download it without thinking at all. That why mod support is stupid idea ever and it put so many people in risk now. Better avoid mods you never can know what hide in this mod until you really have very deep knowledge and can do self analyze of this mod before use it. Even you use top ranked mod with high download number there no guarantee at all that in future updates they will not insert malware.

It crashes when I try to go into the menu on a modded save file and an unmodded save file.

Moi aussi, le jeu se lance et se ferme une fois le message de prévention contre l'épilepsie passé. J'ai tout essayé : exécuter le jeu en administrateur, le réinstaller, mettre à jour mes pilotes graphiques, réinstaller Steam... Rien ne fonctionne et je ne peux plus jouer au jeu. J'aime ce jeu et je venais tout juste de l'acquérir lors de la dernière mise à jour. Je veux pouvoir bénéficier de mon achat, c'est la moindre des choses...

My games was working yesterday (1/31/25) with new and old mods. Then i went to remove the old mods with validate files. This morning (2/1/25) It crashes after I click continue after the loading screen.

I just bought it. Never played it whatsoever. Keeps crashing after the seizure warning. W10 and GeForce RTX 2060. Nothing's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ worked. This is appalling, the devs and WB should be absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ashamed. This is a launch week issue, not an issue that exists TWO YEARS after the game's come out.

FIXED: for Steam users that crash at the Warning Screen or during Shaders Loading, try these steps in this order that worked for me!

Step One: Uninstall game from Steam.

Step Two: Go to your Steam folder and delete the entire Hogwarts Legacy folder @ steamapps > common > Hogwarts Legacy.

Step Three: Go to your appdata folder and delete the entire Hogwarts Legacy folder @ Users > [username] > AppData > Local > Hogwarts Legacy. [NOTE: that some PC's have the AppData folder hidden by default, so if you don't see it you will need to follow the appropriate steps to unhide the folder. these steps can be found on google @ "how to find hidden folders on Windows 10" (or whatever your OS is) ]

Step Four: Empty your PC's recycling bin to finish removing the deleted folders from your PC.

Step Five: Reinstall Hogwarts Legacy on Steam, and enjoy the game!
[NOTE: deleting these folders does NOT delete your saved games, since I followed exactly these steps in this order and still have all my saves after launching the game.]
I hope these steps help someone else out there.
