I wasn't sure since the game would crash on launch and I had to remove those mods from my mods folder to get the game to load.

To keep your mods you will need to rollback to the previous update.

To do that go to Run (win +R) and type steam://open/console. There you will type download_depot 990080 990081 5173511114843368548.

This will download the previous build, once its downloaded it will say complete. then go to where its downloaded, It will tell you when its done downloading. It will probably be something like G:\Steam\steamapps\content\app_990080 (where your steam folder is located on ur pc) you should see a folder with the depot listed there. open it and copy everything in there.

Next locate where Hogwarts is saved on ur pc. U can do this by right clicking Hogwarts Legacy in steam>manage>browse files. This will open where you have it saved on your PC. You can just paste the depot here and click yes to override, (you can and should probably make a backup of the game for safety but that is up to you). Once that is done, in steam right click on Hogwarts legacy>properties>updates and change it to only when you launch the game.

Final step is to go into Offline mode, if you attempt to launch online it will update and cancel everything you just did. Reapply your nexus mods into the paks folder and whenever you want to play hogwarts go offline.

Lot of steps, but this is how I got around it.

In addition to this, without having to put the game in offline mode permanently or change the game's properties in your steam library, once you've installed the previous version of the game, you can set your app manifest file to read only and you will no longer get any more updates from steam on the game.
It will stop steam from doing any updates to the game until you take the file out of read-only.

For Hogwarts legacy your app manifest file will be named the following (It's the same for everyone):
appmanifest_990080.acf

Instructions to set it to read-only:
Right Click > Properties > Check the "Read-only" box at the bottom > Click Apply

The appmanifest is in the following folder path for your steam libraries if it's installed on your OS drive:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps

If it's not in your OS drive it'll be in the "steamapps" folder in whatever drive hosts your game in that steam library on that drive.
Example:
F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps

Oh thanks man I didn't think to do that. That's a lot better than switching between online/offline.
