I was just thinking about what if everyone else's shaders are crashing at 10% because you all did want to "prepare shaders" and made changes to files then made them read only, which was also suggested on these boards.
At first I don't understand why the shaders have to be prepared every time, even if close and launch the game 10x in a single day. So I was looking for a solution. But I'd rather it be slow that to crash and not be able to play.
Anyway, just wondering. No accusations. Just sleuthing.
Anyone who gets crashes before the game makes it to the title screen has very likely got a problem with CPU being unstable. Run HW diagnostics and then a stress test to confirm.
it turned out to be an issue with how GPU drivers interacted with operating system, which led to inproper system resource allocation.
Fresh installing drivers wasnt enough, but reinstalling windows has fixed the issue
go to next "C:\ProgramData\Hogwarts Legacy" and delete everything except the file "NotAllowedUnattendedBugReports"
Start the game. This time it should take a few minutes to properly prepare the Shader-Cache
Shaders compile for the hardware they are running on. Which is why it's not needed on consoles as they know exactly the hardware being targeted..
WOW! That's incredibly lame. It's always fun when developers pretend they're making a game more open to the community when in reality they're making it even more restrictive.
I'll bet the mods I have installed probably aren't even available on their new server either, so I'll have to wait for them to be uploaded/approved.
